The cap on the reservoir doesn't say what it is or what kind of fluid to use. It only says "CAUTION FILL TO PROPER LEVEL" I'm really low and I want to fill it back up but I have no idea what to put in here. I already searched and googled, so I don't need smart ass answers. If you're gonna give me one, press back now. This is a '96 S14 btw. 5 speed.

Also, at the top of the picture, that's the Brake Master Cylinder correct?

Power steering resevoir. It uses Dexron 3 ATF fluid.

Alright. Thanks for the quick response. I don't know why it bubbles when the motor gets warmer, and the motor runs rough in traffic because of it I'm assuming. It's never done it before.

I remember taking a look at mine and thinking that it bubbled, too, at idle. Although, I also have a slow leak somewhere in the PS system (low pressure line, I think). There may be a small leak, and the bubbling I've seen, but I don't think it's the cause of your car running rough.

You more likely have a vacuum leak somewhere.

That's what I've been thinking. And the bubbling is most likely from a leak in the PS system too, because it's all over the plastic covering on the under body of the car.

Yeah, I would tend to agree. The wrapped line coming out of the bottom of your PS reservoir is "supposed" to be silver. I only know this because I tried cleaning off some of my filthy engine bay one time. My engine bay is covered in a thick layer of dirt, oil, and powersteering fluid. :barf:

ps tends to give out on 240's

so its either leaking or it needs to be flushed.

That sucks... I wonder how it is to drift an S14 without PS...

And Alch, yeah. I wiped the line down a little and hey! It's shiny!

Yes Hongsterr is right.. if anything is leaking on your sylvia it would be Power steering.. first thing you coukd do is replace the hoses.$60-$80 for all three. if it dont help.. the your pump is gone $300+ (i just have mine rebuilt)

Alright. Thanks :D. I think I'll just deal with it leaking for now. Gotta buy other stuff first.

you can make them yourself if you want. unless you want to pay up some bucks.. regular ones are fine. the pump and hoses usually last about the same time....talking for myself though.

isis makes the lines..but they are like 90 bucks...and yeah you can make your own, or have a place make it. I have a local hydraulic shop make me all my lines..ps, turbo, nitrous...whatever. always cheaper then the net
