There's a difference between simply swapping any ls series engine into a z platform, and swapping an ls7 as cleanly as this one. The obvious amount of planning, fabrication, and skill speak for themselves.

There is no way titanium rods shave 40lbs off an LS1's weight. There's not a lot different about the two to make the LS7 that much lighter.

Maybe you got the weight without exhaust manifolds/accesories?

I definitely understand the relationship ls series engines share, and that they require the same amount and type of fabrication to swap. The fact that an ls7 was used just makes it that much better and helps to set this build apart from the other lsx swaps out there :)

your facts are meaningless, much like your opinion...if an ls7 swapped z33 is common to you or your area, i want to live where you live. come down off your high horse and appreciate something that someone put their hard work, time, and a substantial portion of their hard earned money into. or is it that you just need the attention and you say dumb stuff...you should have listened to your parents when they told you if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything...

and if your facts were true, id take an extra 100lbs or so for the extra 200 horses and increased torque. its pretty easy math.

Ls7 heads will not fit on Ls1 block. Ls3/L76 (baby Ls7 heads) however do fit on Ls2 blocks. The smallest bore size for the Ls7/3 heads can fit on is the Ls2 4.00'' bore. Dont qoute me on the Ls7 heads fitting though on a Ls2 block though as I know for sure that the Ls3 valves come close to the cylender walls.

The car is AMAZING looking, tons of expensive ass parts...But curious, as to why you spent the money on an LS7 rather than something like an LS2, with heads of your choice, etc...that would all be had/built for cheaper than what a stock LS7 crate motor costs, and would take more punishment to boot.
I'm not trying to hate either, but I am with the other guy...LS1, LS7, the swap is basically the same to actually do....you just have the bragging rights of saying naw man its an lsSEVEN!!!!

That is about it. Even an LS1 can make those numbers with "minor" modifications. Maybe he got it for a good deal or something, or has GM backing.
