Reminds me of the kid who did the same thing, but with a 2010 (or 2009?) Shelby Ford Mustang GT500.
Damn that really sucks. I absolutely love those porsches.

After reading it, I think it turned out pretty good for the kid.
A. Worked for a Porsche Big Wig for a while
B. Got to sit in the Prosche
C. His dad sent him to Apex driving school
D. Now, Im sure, he can top anybody's story
If you ask me, I think it turned out pretty good for him.

OH wellz.... I agree that is parenting though.... Punishment to own up to mistakes then take him to a driving school so he can learn from his experience....
I wouldn't be able to handle that.... but seriously, what if his friend was standing in front of the porsche and started the motor and rammed his friend and pinned him....
Things could be worse.... its an expensive toy, shit happens....

I would have broken my foot off in his ass, but that kid is lucky to have such a cool dad...and he's lucky his friend didn't get hurt as well.

only 11k in damage to the porsche. It wasn't like the kid was trying to drive it without permission. Reminds me of a kid who decided to be nice and wash my car without me asking......he had steel wool.

It's the dad's fault anyway. What kind of automotive journalist doesn't teach his son how to drive a stick?

He doesn't have to teach him, it's not an obligation of life.

It definately is a bad situation. When we were kids Im pretty sure that we all made mistakes. I bent the hell outta the door on my moms car. Luckily for me it was a POS anyways. IMO The price tag on the car is what amplifies the Oh-Shit level. If you take away the price tag all you have is.. A young kid who fu*ked up when trying to show off for his friend.. Who hasnt done that?

Funny thing is 90% of cars on the road now a days have safety features to stop a car from starting while in gear. But thats what happens when you have a 100+k car in your driveway from Europe.
I think given the circumstances i would have probably done the same as the father. It is in fact, "just a car" it can be fixed.
