View Full Version : Buddy club wheels + fitment + where?

I have only seen a few people truly happy with wheels that knew what they were doing. I am planning on a 300ZX brakes upgrade very soon, and Possibly coilovers in a few years. I found wheels that clear both, and are available in many offsets and sizes.
My plans are for front 17x8 with +22mm offset and rear 17x9 with +27mm offset. These are buddyclub racing P1s.
Also, does anyone know where I can get theese wheels other than Rare Trick, or where I could get Kosei K1s? (same wheel, different name)
Thanks,
Joey

Where did you get yours?
Also, Does anyone know of any other wheels I can get in 17 x 8/9 with below 30 offset? because I am not accually crazy about these wheels. I did want 5zigen typhoons, but in 9 inch widths, only 5 lug is available, and in 8 inch, only 35 offset is made in a 4 lug. It just stinks. I know I could get volks they way I want them, but they are a little spendy. If I was gonna blow 2K+, I would get my dream wheel, advan AVS model 5s. They are also only big offset, only 5 lug.
I dont want to do a hub conversion...

my serious advice
GO 5 lug!!
if you want 17x9 and such you MUST have 5 lug. simple as that. you simply cannont find reasonably price 9" wheels in a 4 lug!
im in the process of my 5 lug (fronts are sitting right next ot me at home) and done next week (lazy and waiting for the new brake pads) its 100% worth it
i'll probably get some P1 eventually....17x9 +27 or lower :)
i dont know where to get them new. i got mine used..15x7 +27 (clears z brakes and coilovers w/ no spacer)
do the hub conversion!! you wont regret it! its worth 100%!!!

5 lug isn't worth it if you can't use your stock alloys in the future. What if you need cash and want to sell your rims, then you can't use your old wheels. Also if you live anywhere cold I would highly recommend getting some snow tires on the stock wheels for the winter. Salt also eats rims in the winter if you leave them on your car. (But hey I live in Alabny during the winter, so maybe you don't have that problem).

Thats why you buy other people's stock SE wheels for 250.

Yeah. I never even thought of the whole stock wheels thing. Because I was planning on using those for drifting if I can ever find a place to do it legally.
The more I look at P1s the less I like them.:bash: So I will probably just get the 5zigen fireball typhoons in 17 x 8 all around. even though they wont clear coilovers without spacers in the 35 offset. :wtc:
I e-mailed them and asked them (5zigen) if I could order the wheels I want (5lug) Undrilled so i can have a machine shop drill them to 4 lug for me. I doubt they will but it is worth a shot.

winter? whats that? :D
You can get the Kosei K1s from tirerack. Even though they don't list it for the '240SX', just call and talk to the rep.. Try calling Luke; he moderates the Wheel/Tire forum on freshalloy

I called them up (tirerack). Some guy nammed blake told me I cant fit anything wider than 7.5" on my car. I told him to ignore what car I was driving, and he told me they dont make wheels in the size I can order from raretrick. So I suppose someone is wrong. (probably tirerack).

IIRC you can't get 17x8 or 17x9 K1, but you CAN get 17x8.5. heh. Dunno offsets but Luke can tell you and work with you.

17s and wide wheels would have to come from japan
they make some nice wiiiide 15s too iirc
mid and low offsets just overall more choices.
but shipping is the killer
