Lance, babysitting newbees is one of the finest things we can do here and welcome each post with open arms. I know you are a moderator and if you do not like what I posted or what the original post was about...howabout just shutting your trap a bit will ya??...well so be it. I came to Zilvia to learn and share. Your post seemed a shade like a little high school bully touting to see reaction...If so..you got it..and by me.
I can go forever now...you want that? PM me. Forget my contributions.
Why cant we use the forum for learning and sharing and not "attitude adjustment?"
You would not believe the email I got from this...Do you always greet posts from this perspective?
A correction is of order IMHO.
I am dismayed at this actually but I would have said nothing except I got some private mail saying "right on dude" and such. And others saying dont F U C K with you.
???????
Take it up with WEST and keep the spirit of the forum friendly and lively.
Please...or if this posts receives negatism, then consider all my 400+ posts of info and inquirey a DEAD issue from this point forward and I will go away right now.
I hate it when this happens...really.
I thought I was welcomed here...and others...
It goes to show you that folks "go away" when they sense a general attitude from the staff and management. Leave it alone.
What was your point?
Is it to "run off" posters?
Looks that way to me.
In all fairness, last time I checked the word "moderator" in my large Rand McNalley 25 years ago..it meant, to be moderate, no disdain of prejudice, to look carefully at all sides of the equasion with no bias, and determine what is in the best intrests for all interested parties. This means a moderator must consult with his other peers before rendering judgement.
In best words, Muzzle the attitude dude.
West...your thoughts please...
I came here for info and to share...I see moderators with an attitude, that is not condusive to learning or sharing, I am out of here...because, all newbees would also be "outta here" and the goal of the forum is to attract as many new members to the site, as possible...agreed?
Heavy handed here, you damned right, it takes not much crossing to crank me up..and I stand my ground...won't back down.
Come to some form of understanding before you display this BS please. The site does not profit one dime from it..it loses./

For someone who has no liscence you seem to be stocking up on cars:rolleyes:
Juss get a silvia front end then sell it. About the HUD, most dont work, and there is no hud on the cluster its a digital speedo, juss go junkyard diving and get a replacement.

I'm confused. Did Lance edit his post or something? How does him saying "and your point is..." come off as him being an asshole? YoungRookie didnt even ask anything. He said he bought a car and then proceeded to list its problems. No questons were asked. I read the post and i too was like "okaaaay and...?" I dunno maybe i missed something.

Do you like it when someone comes to share something and the response is
And your point is?
Seems rather Curt and brash.
Does not seem like a good thing as a response at all. Someone says that to me in person, they better watch theirself, I may just go off.
It is being a smarta$$
In very basic communication, a post is always a question requesting a response...like I got this..here are the problems...then he would like to hear someone say, hey man good going, I found a front in such and such town you could get and at LEAST something other than "what was your point" attitude.
I get cranked at folks being that way...especially a moderator whos actually "point" is to welcome members and build the site and keep the peace.
I do not find it condusive whatsoever.

I can understand that. If he's sharing just to share with us that he got a new car thats fine. But he should have said that and he should not have posted this in the Tech section. Honestly, i dont understand the point of YoungRookie's post myself.
EDIT: How are we supposed to know what he wants unless he asks. Thats like me coming on here and posting "my car wont start" and leaving it at that. And you mean to tell me that if i did that, you would type ALL the possible resons for why my car wont start AND do it with a nice attitude? I highly doubt it.

I respect Lance. His post just rubbed me the wrong way...reason? If I was young rookie, I would be a potential customer and I know Lance does commerce. If I were Youngrookie, I would leave zilvia and never be seen again after reading that attitude. I just don't want folks to leave the site and go on to another and miss out on the goodies this site contains or be afraid to interact. Again, I respect Lance. I would like to do business with him someday. I would think that youngrookie has the potential of anyone here and needs to be treated as such.
Youngrookie might just be a "Mario Andretti" in the future.
All I am saying is give everyone some respect please.
edit:
The internet can be useful or can be full of hate. If I read a post..my car won't start, I would fire back, does it spin over or just sit there? And the next post would give me the info to help. Not everyone is a wordsmith or can convey their meaning in print. It takes interaction to see what is really happening. A nice response would have been..."what are your plans with it?"
I see he has not responded...and probably decided that...whoa..I cannot interact here...hummm...better go some place else.
This is why I posted what I did.

Bill Roberts for Governor!
I hope you really don't plan on leaving Bill. I think alot of people have been p*ssed off once or twice due to a smarta$$ response to a simple question....It all boils down to, if you don't like the original post, or have something positive to say, then move along.
You have to realize that not everyone is going to understand what you are tryin to translate to a keyboard...You may think what you are typing makes sense, but it comes out difficult to understand...
I don't think Lance was a jerk with what his intentions were..He was correcting him on how to properly post....I think he should have added maybe "next time ask it in a question form" after he posted his response.....
well, thats all i have to add to this LOOOONG post.......
and YOUNGROOKIE.....next time, make sure you post in the "chat" area bro...

Sorry guys when I thought I was in the CHAT section then I saw I wasnt and I was going to edit it and say to move it to the CHAT section but never got around to it. I am not asking a question i am just stating that I got a second car and was hoping on some positive feedback but it seems like Bill is the only one on my side here.

Holy Christ!!! I'm speechless. I do welcome newbies. I love teaching others the info I know and my experiences. You have completely misunderstood my response.
I responded as such b/c this is the Tech section and his post seems merely conversational and "look at me". So he got another car...so what. What's his point? What's his question? What's his technical issue? Does he need parts? If so, he needs to go to the For Sale section, post in Want to Buy, or ask where he can find them. If he has a technical question, he needs to ask it...my telepathy skills are little rusty these days. His post was vague...I was merely pointing that out. I wanted clarification so that I could know whether to leave it in Tech, or move it to Chat. I did not mean it as demeaning, nor did I mean it to come off as a smart*** or snide remark. In retrospect, I guess my response may have been a little short...but jeez.
Sorry
EDIT: YoungRookie, I just saw your post. Please re-post in Chat. I'm closing this thread. If you or anyone else have any issues with me, please PM or email me. As a moderator, I'm here to make this place better...I can't please everybody, but suggestions--constructive suggestions--are always welcome.
