This will make you throw up even more. Go to home depot buy some rust-o-leum gloss black or semi-gloss black paint for like 30 bucks. Buy a shit load of sand paper, some tap, and a FOAM roller!
After your done with prep work, roll the paint on. LOL, $80 dollar paint job.

wasn't there already a thread on this recently?
As been said more than once,
do your own prep & take it to your local Earl & Scheib's or whatever cheapskate place.

Maaco in Orange
on 670N batavia street in orange, ca
Tell them steve the guy with the white 240sx sent you.
I paid 500 each on both my cars
and the paint is decently good. They get overspray so cleanup takes alittle bit, but for 500 including prep for an awesome paint job I couldn't complain. one of my cars is going on 2.5 years already with that paint job.
They take a lot longer than what they quote you so make sure you don't need your car for 2-4 weeks. But i keep going back cuz it looks good
first car they took out 3 dents
second car they painted body kit seperately

My buddy Jason recommended this place as well. I'm thinking of goin' for it myself. I really don't feel like sanding and prepping for hours and hours.

I pay 210 as long as the car has no dents. Doesn't include door pillars and trunk whatever inside it.

Do you have a white S14? Thats the car he mentioned hahah and yeah it came out great (assuming that is your car from Formula D he was talking about)

Since DataX decided to put me on blast for wanting a "good" paint job instead of a cheap one, here I am thread jacking. Any suggestions on a quality place? I don't want a $500 dollar cheap bull sh*t. I want quality. Now everyone has different opinions on what quality is and I know of one shop that I consider quality: M1 autobody in el monte. Now since variety is the spice of life lets use M1 as the standard. Again any recommendations are welcome. Also read about Angry Panda Fabrication. Anyone have any experience with them?

both cars were at formula D long beach both are the same white
one was at the hps booth, the other was on the show side
the one at the hps booth was straight out of the paint shop. No wet sanding or washing or buffing. Just straight out threw the body kit on and cleaned up most of the over spray on the windows and drove it to the show

take the car down to ozzie's shop (PAC) give him a G, and he'll go to town. The man knows how to paint cars...he even can fix the ass when you stuff it into a wall over and over (ernie). I haven't had a dissapointed referral yet. anyone have a picture of brian bridges car at pro am?
that was ozzie.

+1 for PAC Autobody & Paint
Ozzie has several options on paint jobs to work with your budget. He's actually done quite a few Formula D cars and they all look great! If he asks who referred you, tell him Alvin. LOL

Sorry we just don't need any more threads about paint. I mean, if that were the case then why not start MULTIPLE threads and call them "Decent paint job", "Cheap paint job", "Cheap but good paint job", "High quality paint job", "Paint jobs", "Decently high quality but still cheap paint job", "High quality but affordable paint job" and well...you see where I'm going with this. That is my viewpoint and why I put you on blast.
To keep on topic, I just got some estimates in. Maaco on Batavia (Lance) the one recommended in Orange, $850 for the cheap paint, $950 for the nicer paint. My car has a lot of dings and needs some body work, that is why it's a lot more expensive. But I was talking with Lance for awhile, he's in the Z crowd, owns a nice clean blue 240Z. We talked for like an hour about random shit and he seems like a very down to Earth, knowledgeable guy.
Then I went to Earl Sheib, and wow, $1150 for the cheap single stage paint. Same body work as Maaco, same door jambs and such. Lance from Maaco even cut me a deal on the price knocked off some of the labor and paint costs. He also helped me figure out what I'm going to need to do for my trim thats peeling and checked the pricing on all the trim, and weather stripping for me.
So far my plan I think is to sand and prep my car, disassemble the front end and rear end and take it to Lance at Maaco.

Not to bump up a old thread, but it's been 3 months are there any results? I been thinking about doing my own prep, disassemble my bumper & everything and have someone spray it. Do you think your friend Lance at Maaco would be able to hook it up and I provide my own paint?
