Stock tires on my '92 240 SE are 195/65-15. I talked to a tire place and told them I wanted to wider without straying too far from the same diameter, so I was thinking maybe a 205/60, but as I started comparing tires in Sam's Club I saw that a 215/60 is nice and wide, but not too far off from the height of the 195/65. The tire guy looked in the book and saw that the '92 240 does not list that as an up size, but the '93 lists the 215/60-15 as an up size. Was there any difference from '92 to '93 that would warrant a wider tire? Aren't they all 15x6.5" wheels?

Stock tire sizes are 195/60 (standard) or 205/60 (w/SuperHICAS). I don't know where you got 195/65 from. It's wrong! Look at the tire inflation spec sticker inside the glovebox.

For stock wheels, 205/60 or 205/55 is best. I like 205/60.

Stock 15" wheels are all 15"x6".
