Heres whats going on, i just got a wideband and a boost control, set them up and started doing some pulls. Problem is, it dosent stay at the same psi, itll start at 10 and spike to 15, even 20. Its a hallman manual boost control and an s14 sr with bolt-ons. What i think may help and would appreciate insight is, wastegate, BC, and cold pipe is the current set up. Should i run the vacuum from the BC to the hotpipe instead? It currently has a lot of travel since it goes back into the cold pipe. Thanks for reading.

Enough said.

Get a real (electronic) boost controller and you will see a world of a difference.

manual boost controllers are not able to hold constant boost very well at all.

Yeah, but on stock setups it shouldn't be doing it. My turboXS mbc is rock solid. Car had an AVC-R, but it was stolen. The difference isn't huge, but it is there.

Im running an S14 SR with stock turbo too. Clean out your MBC? I dunno, this problem sounds retarded.

I tap my MBC off of one of the hardpipes coming from my intake manifold. Where is yours? Because if its elsewhere, this is where you should move it to.

Do you have the vaccuum connected bacwards? I did reversed mine when I first got my controller and it did not work right...

You might not have it hooked up right.
I've seen people crank em down so hard the pressure release ball gets stuck.
Take it apart and make sure the ball and spring move freely. it's not hard, and it'll help you understand which way to hook it up.

Are these the ball and spring type boost controllers? If so, the ball is probably at the WRONG end of the spring.

There is nothing wrong with a manual boost controller. I had one of these with all parts from home depot. It was very stable, 18psi all day for years and never had a problem.

^ This is nonsense. Yea i had the wastegate line runnning on the intake side and the intake on the wastegate. Just switched them around and running perfect. Thanks for the help.
