im doing a sr20 fc3s swap and i am prepping the motor cleaning it up paint valve cover etc. i removed the oil pan to take some measurements. i have to fabricate a new one to fit the rx7. i removed the lower part of the pan and as i was prying the pan off it all of a sudden fell and aluminum chunks fell on the ground and were visible in oil pan. at first i was upset. metal chunks in the oil pan. NOT good. but i looked at them and they were aluminum. no bearing material and they seemed to soft to be piston material. i inspected further shining a light up to look at the pistons. i couldn't find any problems. so i looked at the head. found nothing broken or wrong up there. i shined my light down the timing chain cover and discovered more metal pieces. please tell me what you guys think and what i should do. they look to be parts from a broken valve cover. they are painted on one side and oil residue on the other.
