What I think the problem is were trying to avoid meets like san marcos! where cops are everywhere. I have not been in the past couple weeks so i have no clue whats going on. But you should not show up if all your trying to do is ruin peoples night by thinking you can drift from a dead stop. Hey Guys, New forum member here....Im in Escondido and would love to come by a North County Meet. There are another 3-6 cars I know of that are looking for something up here rather than down south...But no other 240's.
What about something central, off the 78 so it is easy...The Burlington Coat Factory parking lot on Sycamore has a big parking lot with a Denny's and a Taco shop across the street?

oceanside is not much better but that dennys parking lot is somewhat enclosed from the rest of the world and its pretty quiet and chill. thats the only reason i brought it up again.

personally im not willing to go to any area where im gonna get beef from cops, and im sure nobody else wants to deal with it either.

if anyone has suggestions keep them coming, it sounds like once we get this meet started there will be at least 10 people to show up

sushi ya is actually really good food for cheap, but that center in escondido is a mall and we would probably be hassled there. the better places to hold meets at are where you can get late night food or drinks, thats why boba places are good spots. but there arent any of those down here.

sorry if i sound so negative about everything but it is just hard to find a good spot that wont get hassled. i dont know the area down here all that well , thats why i am hoping someone who does will chime in with a great spot. once we get a few people agreeing to one spot we can make a new thread so the first post will stay updated with the info of where the meet is.

the reasoning is when cars meet up in numbers greater then 3 or so, cops will keep their eye on you. and a lot of times when 240's meet the cars are either loud or look like "street racers" to the cops. im just trying to avoid people getting their hood popped for going to a meet. and a lot of 240 owners like me who dont want to deal with cops wont show up to a meet that is in a place that will get hassled by cops.

otherwise yeah. i think its just personal preference, and experience.

me and john pretty much started the irvine meet, he chose a really good spot and it has been going for 5 years now without really any problems.

finding the spot is usually the hardest part of having a meet. i make it sound more complicated than it should be, but i just like for things to happen smoothly. thats why im trying to get local guys who know the area to chime in with spots that would be under the radar since i dont know the area well enough. all the places that i do know, or that have been mentioned seem like they wont work out too long. usually when cops see cars meeting up they assume those people are street racers and try to break it up. which would ruin it for us.

the last bit of information i would say, is that i could be wrong, and the san diego meet pretty much proves me wrong because they have the meet every week at in an out , nearby large shopping centers...so i dont know what to say really. i guess its hit or miss. ive just seen a lot of meets go sour in the wrong meeting spots.

Well the SD meet used to be at fudruckers in the target shopping center in a vacant area of the lot we all chose. It was secluded and what not. I hardly ever see cops near the frys, it has a huge vacant lot that's why I said that.

Essentially any public area you're going to have problems with cops it's a given, only way to avoid would be a private lot or know someone that manages or what not and gives the OK to be on their property. Even at the SD meet cops roll by every now and then but usually no problems. Cops being around is a given, to me its all about staying away from the general public. IE vacant areas of a huge lot. As far as I know, there's a meet at the frys in SD off Aero Drive once a month and that thing is huge! The parking lot they have is enormous. The reason the SD meet is at the in and out is because a few of the guys that go know the management and they don't mind. Plus we're tight with the security guards there.

Well, the "SD Meet" parks in the lot of the bank by the In-n-Out. Its kind of in a hidden, but still open, if that makes any sense, haha. There are usually enough open spaces for about 15 cars in the immediate lot in front of the bank, which is plenty. Then there are another 6 or so to the side of the bank. We average about 8 cars, I would say.

It's almost a perfect spot. =] *more food choices or just a TapEx in the shopping center would be perfect*

I take back the TapEx. Driving down there in our mini caravan is pretty pimp.

I went to this meet twice around Aug 2010 and it was at dennys on Saturdays. We didnt have any trouble with cops. So if its not broke dont fix it lol.
