Go ship my neighbors Peacock off to Antarctica when they are at work.
Fucking thing just makes it's stupid ass Pterodactyl noises all through the night.
There has to be some law against having annoying birds. First they had Roosters, now they have Peacocks. Ugh.

How to Care for Peacocks - wikiHow (http://www.wikihow.com/Care-for-Peacocks)
Avoid feeding chocolate, coffee or alcohol to your peacocks as these can be toxic.
Feed your peacocks a mixture of chicken pellets and mixed grains (barley, wheat, rice)corn feed is also acceptable. You might want to add some dog food (for larger dogs) into the mix. They love all fruits and vegetables and will eat any and nearly all of your human table scraps. Do not give them small bones, as they may choke.

Haha just reading this story make me laugh.
There used to be a Peacock in my nieghborhood, one day it just randomly showed up I guess? Hung out for about a year in someone's back yard cause they kept feeding it.
It used to run into the elementry's schools park once or twice, and they had to cancel recess and call animal patrol. Altough I never found out where it went about a year ago.......

my neighbors across the street have em, caged right next to their gate like a security system. live in a rural area so our houses are placed far apart, but still sucks, esp when theres a few houses on the block with roosters =\

Do you live in an incorporated area(city/town)? They probably have some law on the books about owning farm animals.

i vote pterodactyl as the most random creature ever.
its cool to bring them up in conversation.
like the other day my wife brought our bulldog to petco for nail trimming.
the dumbass lady there says "how old is your pit bull?"
:wtf:
my wife looks at her and says "she's a bulldog."
and looking right at the dog the lady says "french, american, or enlgish?"
omfg. this is at PETCO!
so i told my wife "what so if you bring your cockatiel in for a wing trim she asks 'how old is your pterodactyl?'!?
true story.
and yours is hilarious, btw. had me cracking up here at work. :D
my wife and i also joke about feeding our obnoxious neighbor dog some "magic meatballs" whenever it barks at nothing for 20 minutes.
nothing compared to that peackock squawck though, i'm sure.
you should build a huge mouse trap, throw it over your fence. listen for snap. done.

i would love a few acres there myself though. somewhere i could walk out my backdoor and cap off some rounds without going to jail. maybe i would be another crazy thing in the hills hahaha

SEC. 36.414. GENERAL NOISE PROHIBITIONS
(6) Owning, possessing or harboring an animal which by any frequent or long continued noise causes annoyance or discomfort to a person of normal sensitivity in the vicinity. The written affirmation by two persons having separate residences that an animal has caused frequent or long continued noise, that has caused them annoyance or discomfort shall be prima facie evidence of a violation of this section. This subsection does not apply to animal noise emanating from a legally operated animal hospital, humane society, County Department of Animal Services facility, farm or other agricultural facility where keeping animals is allowed.
County of San Diego: Code Enforcement - Noise Control (http://www.co.san-diego.ca.us/dplu/ce5/Noise.html)
Per SEC. 36.418. MANNER OF ENFORCEMENT the County Sheriff shall have primary responsibility for the enforcement of SECTIONS 36.405, 36.407, 36.408, 36.412, 36.414 and 36.415. When this chapter requires measurements to enforce these sections, the noise control officer shall assist the Sheriff.
Examples of noise disturbance in the UNINCORPORATED AREAS of San Diego County include :
Bands
Construction, Equipment, and Machinery Noise
Dog/Animal Noise
Engines and Motor Vehicles
Off Road Vehicles
Stereos/Radios/Televisions/Musical Instruments and Similar Devices
PA System
Horns and Signaling Devices
Burglar Alarms
The initial response letter to a noise complaint is a warning that may alert a neighbor to a potential problem. Further investigation and other evidence are normally required to determine whether any noise regulations have been violated. NOISE COMPLAINTS PROCEDURE
This office accepts noise complaints for the UNINCORPORATED AREAS of the County of San Diego, for every type of noise, with the exception of:
For Air Traffic Noise complaints, please call the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) Noise Hotline at (310) 725-3638.
For Military Base noise, please find the listing in the blue Government section of your white pages.
Excessive noise can be harmful to the health and welfare of citizens. The County Noise Ordinance defines noise and regulates it by type, land-use zone, and time of day. Events or actions may be prohibited if they cause a noise disturbance.
The links below will give you more information on the complaint process, as well as other information regarding noise control.
NOISE COMPLAINTS PROCEDURE
I think you can get something working in your favor.
If not you can find something below. I'm sure you need a permit, proof of vaccination, proper caging (don't think they can't just be roaming around), etc. I don't see that they are listed as an exemption to the wild animals list for Aves (last link) and I don't see it listed anywhere as a domesticated animal.
