How do you paint them to be super glossy? Its plastic so my gut says just spray it, but you cant get that gloss unless its made like that or theirs a trick. So do i sand, prime, paint, then somehow gloss?

if they make the part pls point me in the right direction, but if not someone explain to me how to do it.

here is an example:

Use glossy paint?

is it really that simple? i mean the stuff i see is real professional like carbon fiber looking, but i dont think anyone would be crazy enough to paint over a carbon fiber piece like that, but even still how do i remove the texture of the plates, sand them and do it, prime?

im asking people who have done it.

well, think about it. you have to give the paint something to adhere to, so sand it with light grit sandpaper. i haven't done much plastic painting, but 180 should do it. i'd put a coat of primer, then 2 coats of paint then 1-2 coats clear.

Resin. Fiberglass / Epoxy resin, thats the look you are describing. Not going to be easy to do.

adhessive paint

go to like a hobby store. ask them
it should be the same thing as RC body cars.

i went to a hobby store here in my area and they recommended me a tamiya paint.

Question. Couldn't you just take it to a graphics shop and just have them cover it in whatever color you want. I know it's kind of a ricer solution but hey it's not like you need to paint your center console for speed. So I guess it's not really faking the funk.

my current thoughts on this is painting it with automotive paint after filling in the fake leather piece of plastic with bondo then sanding very lightly, as to not allow too much pealing. it will match my maroon exterior with gold pin striping on the door.

Duplicolor.

Scrub it, clean it.

Use adhesive promoter, paint desired color, then hit it with a clear.

Your picture is not glossy by the way, it looks like crap actually.

use krylon FUSION for a base coat. the stuff kinda melts the very top layer of plastic and "bonds" to it. then hit with any color you want, finish it with a good clear coat. the more coats of clear the better.
just remember the golden rule of painting:
SEVERAL LIGHT COATS!
let it dry between coats.
should take you almost a whole day to do this piece right. well, at least 4 to 5hours.
trust me, i paint plastic action figures and RC bodies for a hobby. ;)

thats exactly what i was going to say. scuff up the plastic a little first with some 180. when you paint it with anything use LIGHT coats. it probably wont look like its covering at first, thats normal. use a few coats (probably 2) or the self etch. wetsand it with 400 if your anal about smoothness. put LIGHT coats of color. 2 or 3 should cover good. again, if your anal about smooth wetsand it again. then put 2-3 coats of clear on it and setsand that with 1500-3000 and itl be all shiney and shit. when your sanding be carefull not to burn through or your gunna have to paint it again. and make sure you let it flash before you do anything to it. if its humid out take it into your basement and do it. keep it out of sunlight while its flashing or itl stay tacky for a while and your gunna have fingerprints in it and shit. i cant stress enough that you need to use LIGHT coats. if you pile it on there its gunna stay tacky for forever and itl be a pain to work with, not to mention your probably gunna get runs. if you do get a run wait for it to flash and lightly sand it with 400. if the paint starts to ball up then its not ready to sand.
