Im trying to replace my 92 corolla DD with a newer car. Found this one and am wanting feedback.
98 Honda Accord EX
104xxx miles
Manual transmission
Cloth interior
Sunroof
CD player
Power doors/locks
Keyless Entry
Hot heat/ Cold AC
*Needs repair
*Damage on front driver side bumper and behind rear passenger side door (shown in pictures)
Just bought a new car so I need the money!
$2800 OBO
Apparently there is front end damage from another car running a stop sign and hitting it and the rear quarter is damaged from sliding off the road and hitting a fence post.
Also, the "needs repair" part is a low idle and the chick thinks its the clutch going out. It shifts fine so I think it is just a dirty IACV.
KBB in Fair condition is $3460. Would this car be considered fair based on what you know and see?

Let me know if it is still worth the price.

Why do you say that?
It's been in a couple accidents and the paint looks in rough shape. I'd give MAYBE 1.5k if it runs perfectly.

Even though the lowest bluebook is $3460?

You shouldn't only look at the KBB of a car to determine it's value. It's all about Market Value.

Well actually finding a low millage honda in my area is pretty crazy. Most of them I have seen for sale below 150k miles go for around 3k. I just thought I could pick this one up. Pop the dents out, replace the headlight , touch up paint and go. The front dent looks like it would come out with some heat, I dont know about the rear.

Show up with 2400 in cash. If she turns it down then find something else. You can find plenty for $2400 these days. People are hungry for cash.

No. Cute and single is gonna cost more than 2300 cash in the long run.

For all this effort and time wasted, you could blow 2k on a reliable, clean, daily driving 240sx. Don't settle for less.

i just helped a coworker sell a '99 Accord EX with 170k. it was kind of janky. bumper paint was all flaked off, it smelled like a stoner's car, shitty ricer crap all over, cigarette burns, plenty of dings... and he got $3300.
but his didn't have any serious damage, just shopping cart/parking lot dings. so i guess this thing's worth maybe 2 grand? i'd go for $1500 i guess, but i don't want it, at all, so maybe i'm lowballing.

You can take 2400 out of the bank and try to flip this car fro damn near a grand.
You might have your money tied up for months if not years.
You could waste a lot of time.
You will have rather gotten 240 for your money.
You might be able to find a better deal elsewhere.
You might also be able to find people that care about this bullshit question on some other site.

True, for an accord in that shape i doubt that she has received any good offers. I would just talk to her and give her a fair offer about 1500 - 1800 as the miles are up there, the body looks all sorts of beat up, and because you said its a girl (rather than a lady or older gent, who likely have more disposable income to spend on maint) probably a very neglected drivetrain.

Come out to CA buy my Accord. Engine runs fantastic, interior needs a good detail otherwise non-smoker,no rips or tears, exterior needs paint because the clear just died on it, but only one small dent rear drivers side quarter, no accidents and 140,000 miles. Only thing it needs to get it moving is a new transmission. $1000 obo.

think those body repair + paint would runs at least $800 if you care
the headlight is cheap on ebay for like $85 a pair
EX manual is kind of rare, I would buy it for $2500. honda are cheap to keep.....you can always drop a H22A or H23A in there in the future. i think it will be a great daily drive
