ignitor chip = power transistor right?
Oem location is just behind the power steering resivoir in front of the brake cylinder.

So this is something that is on my car already (1998 240) and I need to replace it for the SR, or is it something that is on a harness that came with the swap (in theory)?
Thanks, Ryan

If you got the sr front clip it will be a black electronic piece that is on a bronze plate that is on the drivers side attached to the frame of your car in front of your brake fluid resevoir. And yes you do need the sr one.

Well, I didn't get a clip, so i guess I'll add that 300 dollars to my already grossly over budget project.

Its only on SR's, not USDM 240sx's.
talk to who supplied you with the motorset first before you spend anymore, this is a standard part it comes with all complete sr's. Complete motorsets come with this part to, its a critical part for the whole electrical system
I bring back yet another old post. I have the ignitor chip and the wire harness has been converted for the swap but I can't find the wire it connects to on the harness. I have the plate that i took off for the swap, but i can't find where it goes. Any help or pictures would be a great help.
Thanks
Tommy
