I just got done with a build that took forever and I am throwing a check engine light, kinda. It blinks as the engine dies down and goes away when it speeds back up. Happens after being on for a while. I would do diagnostic mode but I can't because I have the s13 blacktop 97 kouki motor and there is nothing I can turn. Any ideas of what it could be or what I could do? It runs good, not in limp mode.

Do you have the consult port wired up? If, so you can use a consult program to pull codes.
Or use it to trigger diagnostic mode. Also make sure you wired the cluster correctly, because it could be the abs light or something else that's triggering the check engine light.
It's been a while, but that's what I would do. GL

I did not wire the consult port because I didn't know how to wire it up. Also I did not mess with the cluster wiring and it was working good before I did the rebuild. I did dissconnect and reconnect anyways. Thanks tho.
I was scared it was my #1 injector not firing but I unpluged the spark plug and the cel was still on and off. I also took off the the fuel manifold and saw it spray. What is weird was I never saw the cel come on before the rebuild.
There are 2 things I am not sure of tho. The wiring to my starter which I think is good since my car starts right up and this wire that I don't know where it goes both on the lower harness.

Oil pressure Switch? if so, that grounding out would trigger the oil light to flash flutter and whatnot but, not the check engine light.

Can someone correct me if I'm wrong but the only thing that will make it dangerous to drive my car with the cel on is some bad knock right? I've already checked wiring and replaced the knock sensor just because. If so how can I ensure that I am not getting detonation? I have a wideband on it and it is reading good along with oil pressure. It seems to be running good too. Can I drive my car around, I just don't want to blow it like I did last time.

I can't tell you that, but if everything checks out? You make the call!

Why is it so much easier to make these calls on aircraft. The problem is everything checked out fine when I first blew the motor. Alright I am starting to reach for stuff now. I found I might not have the right coolant temp sensor since the keys don't match up but my car doesn't run rich so I don't know. You cam see the plugs key is offset and the sensor is right down the middle. It was plugged in upside down to fit. Does it matter?

Also I got 2 more unused plugs but I don't remember them being used. There next to the battery tray.

F**k it I'm driving. Spark plugs look ok and I can't see anything wrong. I'm going to put some break in miles on it and when it's ready I'll take it to a shop to install my aem ems that will tell me and get a tune. Wish me luck

Alright drove around good but I had some low oil pressure when it warmed up. Idle was at about 12 psi. I want to kill myself for buying a used oil pump but I wanted to check and make sure it wasn't the gauge. I hooked up a direct gauge but noticed some stuff in the connection to the gauge. So I took the oil block off to clean and reseal it because it was leaking a little. My question is

My computer crashed so I can't look at my fsm. Which way does the o-rings for the oil block? It is a o ring with metal making a T.
