Im really looking into building a 600 hp sr20. I have been looking around and I keep reading different things about how much the block it self can hold, etc. I would like to know what set ups people are using for high hp sr's. For example, piston rod combo, what bearings, sleeved or not, stroked or stock bore and so on and so on.
Any information is greatly appreciated.

Its doable but its gonna be very very expensive...if 600hp is your goal, it will be cheaper and more reliable to do so with an RB25.
Besides, 600 hp on an SR will have a very narrow powerband...kiss your low end and mid gone. RB will have a better, more usable powerband.

depending on what your building the car to do. id hope 600 hp is for a non-street car. drifty car id suspect. this is what i would attempt on top of a fully built block and head.

GT35r
twin scroll t3 flange..

and use on of these.

Quick Spool Valve (http://www.suprastore.com/spquspva.html)
this will close off one "scroll" of the exhaust housing until boost is present, then opens it all up. making your .86 AR housing a managable .42 housing which an sr can spool no problem.
this is not a wastegate. and this will not increase power. its sole purpose is to increase power in the mid range by spooling quicker. on the supra in the video with a much larger turbo, increase 150ft/lbs in the midrange, which enough to change the entire powerband.
you talking about a lot of damn money not to mention there arent too many 600hp sr's running around. nor the NEED for a 600hp 240sx. my opinion tho. just saying if i were to want to do it. this is probably the route i would go. thats just the turbo.. also look at these sites..
How to build a fully built 9k RPM SR20 Head (http://forums.nicoclub.com/project-building-a-sr20det-head-to-rev-9000k-t222395.html)
VG transmission adapter instructions (http://www.mazworx.com/docs/srvg%20transmission%20adapter%20kit%20instructions .pdf)
Because you WILL need a tranny to hold the power.
dont forget. engine management, fuel system, clutch, intercooler.
id recommend powerfc, haltech, or nistune. that is tuned by someone that really knows what they are doing. look for people that have tuned an sr for that power before ie Enthalpy.
and lastly, as far as the intercooler, throttle response is detrimental to spooling the turbo. If this a track day/ race car. I would do an air to water intercooler, setup with the core under the hood and the heat exchanger flush with the radiator with moster fans and shrouding/ducting to suit.
take a look here.
Air-to-Water intercoolers (http://www.frozenboost.com/stpg.php?page_id=water_to_air)
that site has everything with great prices. i was looking at the 350hp setup which would run under 500 bucks for everything...
i hope ive helped shine some light on the subject. i work mids in a comm facility. i have absolutely nothing better to do

Boosting 1.8 bar but have pushed it to 2.0 bar. But what all I've done, I could have gone RB25 and have a cheaper setup.
I had a buddy out here with an RB25 into an R32. Stock bottom end, headwork/cams, PFC and a big ass Holset HX50 turbo, made over 600hp. He spent maybe 1/4 of what I spent.
