So I came across this on youtube:

YouTube - True Compressor Surge (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCj6Spwl1CU)

it's what they're describing as "real compressor surge". Now...I never really liked these guys' efforts at marketing, but the sound I can't deny.

Recently I began to experience a sound similar to this one. I've got a gt2871r .64 A/R. My high boost setting is 19 psi. Like in this video, I only experience the sound at high boost. It's been happening about 3 days now. I haven't changed any settings or anything on the car.

The car has a front mount, q45 throttle body and aftermarket intake manifold.

Can anyone suggest possible reasons/fixes for this? Other than 'just turn the boost down'...

Hmm...thats weird, never actually seen a car do that before.

I dont know you would have something similar to it, considering the size turbo you're running and PSI. I've had the same turbo even run higher boost on a stock TB. I dont understand how you'd have this issue unless something is getting blocked or restricted (ie: small intercooler, tiny pipings).

that would make sense I suppose, but I've had the same laaaarge intercooler, 2 inch piping to turbo for 3 years now.

thinking about it today, could in be an issue with my wastegate actuator? Or possibly boost controller solenoid?

So, you get the chuff-chuff noise while you are accelerating?

yes, at 20psi, full boost. when accelerating through traffic it's fine. (13-14psi)

May need Cams for 20PSI.

not too sure why I would but you may be right...I just don't see why I wouldn't have needed them the past few years but do all of the sudden.

Also, took the car to full boost today, through 2nd and 3rd, didn't hear the noise at all, what the hell.

not sure I trust what a bunch of half-literate goobers say on youtube. That logic doesn't make sense to me.
