Hey guys, I'm actually from CO, but I'm visiting my dad in San Jose until July 17th. Anyone wanna meet up? Most likely it takes an hour for everyone to get there. So most likely we'll be waiting at KK for an hour unless "someone" tells us to leave. If its past an hour we're still thinking of where to go. Just be there within an hour I guess.

I just did a Supra meet; driving 101 from San Leandro Marino to some Parking Lot up in SF. Pretty fun. drove by the beach and then lined em up in the parking lot for pics. I'm so bummed about my car...Looks like it's going to be taking a little nap for a bit. After we left the krispy kream parking lot my car died:wtc: It'll turn over, but not ignite. It did have a fun ride on the back of a flatbed tow truck though! The wiring harness is really screwed up, so the plan is to replace that and hope it all works fine then. I'm super bummed though...I really wanted to do the drive up 9. I'm not even sure if it will be good to go for DD7...

Wow that was a pretty good meet. it was my first meet that i have attended. There was a bunch of SR powered 240's there and one CA and a KAT there too. The FC3C w/the turbo hood and the front lip was also nice too. After the meet, the cruise throught the mountain pass was nice but my car started over heating:bash: so i pulled over and sat there for like 30 minutes:( other than that, it was a great meet. I also met some people too. One thing i fergot was to ask anyone who wanted to buy my interior panels:doh: o well theres always next time.;)

It's ALIVE!!!! Looks like the ground wire to my fuel pump came loose. Luckily that was an easy fix even though it took about two hours to firgure it out. YAY!!! I'm so happy that my car isn't dead

Same with Anthony's car (KA-T). He wasnt getting fuel I think though. Had to get towed. ahah. We wanted a flat bed but for some reason they said AAA didnt have anymore. Hmm...I wonder who took the last one?!:rolleyes: Im jk. Luckily after 5 hours a tow truck came and helped us out. Overall it was a good turn out. 23 cars I counted. It took so long just to get a group shot though...oh wells, it was fun.

Well anywayz, that sucks that it was a bad ground s13chica, haha we werent even looking in the right place. But its probably best that you get a new harness still. cause that harnes is one of the worst i've seen. Ohh by the way this is chris- red 240, art's friend.

Well its good to know that your cars working again, sucks though, if we figued it was the ground probably still could have gone on a cruz on hwy 9. That radiator flush worked. I went through calaveras today, no overheating :D

Any one ever have overheating problems, get your colant system cleand out. it works.

All in all it was a good meet. Next time we need a Dyno day meet.:drool:

Man I missed the cruise. About 6 of us guys were waiting at the parking lot. We saw a whole group leave and we asked some peeps where they were going and they said home. Then we find out that the "leader" of our SC cruise had a wiring problem(s13chica...cough). Oh well glad that it was just a ground thing. Hey so what's the deal on the white car in the tow truck? did you get your car taken for speeding?????? It was awesome meeting you guys. I have like 30 pics but no where to upload em too. Thanks to one of the guys(I suck w/ names) who had his brother there. Drove back to their house and gave me a replacement front signal for $1!!! What love. hehe. Fun times guys.

Ive never been on that hwy 9 drive before but that was awesome, lots of fun. Whoever was in the green s14 with the kouki front end behind me on the 2nd leg of the drive almost ate **** when we were going around a tight right hand turn and I gotta give you props for staying alive. Looked pretty crazy from where I was sitting :)

I guess we were looking in the wrong place. When I got the car back home the fuel pump ground line was one of the last things we looked at. I do still plan on getting a new harness since the one I have is so sad i want to cry.

I wish I could have gone on the drive too...I was really looking forward to that. Glad to hear your radiator flush cured the overheating problem. YAY!

I was one of the three blue fastbacks there. But mine was lowered in the front, front lip, gunmetal stock rims, and fadin paint. Well...alot of 240's are in my condition as in paint but my car also had lazy eyes on too.

another couple of roads which i bet you would all LOVE are Empire Grade to Bonny Doon Road which takes you down to HWY 1 on the coast..

and there is also an option to take Empire Grade to Ice Cream Grade which then leads down to HWY 9 or HWY 17 depending on which route you take..

they are both great mountain roads..and ZERO cops..unlike the camero patrol on HWY 9..

sinful: The harness will work fine for holding you in the seat when drifting. I don't think its a good idea to wear a harness while driving on the street however.

EMT's are not expecting a harness, chances are most people don't know how to install a harness properly. Its not as simple as just bolting it in.

For track events and auto x i think a harness is fine, at the track the tech should catch a poorly installed harness if you have one.

Well i've heard the best way to do the harness is use the seat belt bolts for the bottom connectors. then for the rear is to connect it to the rollcage bar. However, if you dont have a rollcage bar you can buy a guide bar(which doesnt look very safe to me). And the last way, which i was thinking of; is to use the rear seat belt bolts for the backs of the harnesses. Now if i get into a crash w/ a harness i will be stuck, so if i flip, i'm screwed. And if i hit head-on i guess the way the harness is hooked up could give me paralysis. But I dont see how my stock seat belts are much safer. in an accident it will probably have like 2" more slack than the harness(not enough to dodge a roof collapsing. And people get back injuries all the time. Basically, i'll probably get a rollcage like the one s13chica has. But for now i'm gonna hook it up to the stock seat belt points(the best way to do it; because those spots are at least reinforced). If you have any "God damnn you moron" comments feel free to post em as long as you back em up w/ something that might scare me out of doing it. hehe. So do you have pics of those brown seats? i didnt look very close when i got the signal.

Re the harness. Seriously look up the rules and specs for race harnesses. Imo the most important thing in a car is how the driver is protected in the event of a crash. Saving money or doing something half assed when it comes to belts and harnesses imo is never worth it.

Harnesses are setup and designed so that no matter what type of crash, the driver is projected forward against the belts.

There is alot of information out there on how belt tension, slack and other aspects of driver deceleration are critical to survival and minimizing injuries. Ideally the driver does not experince any deceleration, the chassis experinces it for him/her (s13chica). This is one of the reason BMW makes all that big talk about seat belt pre-tensioners, they improve the survivalabiltiy (sp) of the passengers by minimizing passenger movement in a crash.

There is tons of research on this topic I think more people should undergo before making a choice. I think I will be spending atleast a week researching different belt materials and their benifits/risks.

One of the things i like about drifting by myself and why there are probably so many street racers(besides FnF and Initial D) is because of the requirements at a track. I mean most are reasonable, but by the time your done you've invested so much money into making it all-out race; no room for daily driving. hehe. I guess the idea is you keep that car for racing and buy a beater for daily driving. I forgot what else i was gonna say. :D

no not everynight...really just occaisionally...i actually don't like HWY 9 as much i do Empire or Ice Cream Grade...or even Bonny Doon Road for that matter..i like the smaller roads with no cars on them..and more importantly no cops..;)..plus noone knows about them which makes it fun too..

we don't really race on these roads...more just driving at each person's own ability for the simple fun of driving..:D..and we go both up and down hill..basically cause we go up and have to get back..lol

np dude. The drive was nice, there was a small accident involving a volvo and some other car, but it happened before we got up there. Otherwise, hairpin turns sorta suck at night.

I got your message when I got out of safeway nokeone, I didn't catch your number but I'll write it down again.

Dk burned up his brake pads on the drive, that was lol's for a bit. We tried to fix his headlight but somehow it eluded our efforts. It might be the headlight switch as his two parking lights up front also don't work.

We will do it again sometime.

S13chica is :wtc: about missing the drive, so we might plan one coming up next week. Let someone know if your intrested and we can post up a scheduled event or something. Maybe a monthly tour...whatever. Something fun to do.

i'm not even sure i glazed them; only lost a bit of stopping power for the last ~20secs before we hit 17. i was pushing 9/10 to keep you two in sight...

the smell is not an issue, I had my windows down and I only smelled something ONCE at a specific point in the drive when I had to slow for something in the road, but otherwise nada. The little pops of fire are sorta cool lol

sorry the drive was on the 17th. Today is the 19th and there is an auto x in 6 hours which atleast 2 people I know of will be going to.
