Was driving my car which has red top sr in it the other day and it just died on me running down the highway. Wouldnt crank back up. In checking stuff i unplugged the mafs and it started but as soon as i pluged it back in it shut off. So i thought it was mafs and i bought another one but still same prob. it wont start with it pluged up. All the wires for harness have right voltage and ground. No intercooler pipes off and no vac. leaks i checked. Please someone give me a idea what to look for.

IM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM ON MY KA24DE SO YOURE NOT ALONE . THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME I WAS DRIVING AND FOR SOME REASON IT SHUT OFF ON ME AND WOULDNT START UNLESS I UNPLUG THE MAF . WELL IMS STILL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM BUT I KNOW YOU PROBABLY CARBONIZED YOUR SPARK PLUGS CUS THATS WHAT HAPPENED TO ME SO CHECKED THEM AND LET ME KNOW IF THEYRE BLACK BUT IM SORRY I CANT HELP MUCH CUS IM TRYING TO FIND OUT WHAT IT IS ALSO. ok i finally got my car running it turned out to be the coil but i dont know if you have this in your harness to the ignition coil but me and my wife where looking for clues under the hood and we found this little black box strapped to the coil harness and it turn out that this little black box is added to the green and black coil cable and its some kind of a capacitor with four wires going in to it. thanx to my wife she noticed it and as soon as we replaced that little box and the coil the car started right up!!! i hope this works for you! good luck!:)
