CLIFFNOTES: I have a 1991 240SX hatchback. The braking system is all stock, and the seatbelts are stock as far as I know. The belts don't move, and the car stops on its own (slowly). Read on.
My seatbelts have not operated since I bought my car used. I was taking my car apart and I found a plug, so I plugged it in (driver's side, near blue motor box for seatbelt) Than My motor would make a strange grinding noise, and not move my seatbelt. It won't engage with the use of the Allen wrench crank either. I would like to know how to re-engage the seatbelts. (They may have been disconnected because they were broken, or because the owner didn’t like them).
My car's brakes work. They stop the car well. When I put the car in reverse, they will rattle (only rear ones). Also, my car gets brake dip when I coast to a stop. No e-brake, in neutral, my foot off the brake, forward or reverse. It will slow down faster than what I think is a coast, and the car will dip down and back up in the front like I am holding the brakes on a little bit. (this is not a huge noticeable thing, but it is apparent)
Any help, comments, corrects, or "me too"s gladly appreciated.
