I have a redtop Sr with a 71r on it, I know I have too tight of a bov spring in. But would that be the reason why my catch can is filling every five days with hard driving? Where is this mass amount of blow by coming from? I have the can going from the valve on the valve cover and routed to the turbo intake pipe.

pcv valve is probably bad

Bypass PCV

Could be from short trips, and not getting the oil up to 212*f.

I hope you have both PCV lines going to the preturbo intake pipe. You should be getting minimal residue from the valve cover.

In this situation I would just run both the block and the valve cover to the ground or a vented can with 5/8th" lines. Your engine wear will drop significantly due to less silcon

or bad piston rings

I just picked up a new pcv valve. I don't think it's bad rings, it doesn't smoke blue and it has plenty of power.

Great call, took it off and shook it and got silence. Thanks.

FYI the tube on top of the valve cover isn't a PCV valve.

Not sure if you know or not.

Its unscrews on the passanger side of the rear of the head.

I can guarantee I know why this is happening.

At high RPM, it is common for the cams to "fling" oil towards the T fitting on the valve cover.

Blow-by is VAPOR.

If your hose running from the T to the catch can runs straight downhill, all little droplets of oil that form near the T entrance will gravity-drain into the catchcan.

I filled up my catchcan in no time, too.

You need to run your hose so that it goes UPHILL a little bit first when it comes off of the T, then to the catchcan.

If you make it go "uphill" when it first comes off the catchcan, oil droplets will gravity drain back into the head (good).

Only the VAPORS will be blown into the catchcan.

that is my take on the situation

Would priming the oil pump too much cause oil to spill out the valvecover fitting? say, on a s14 SR?

by turning over with noe spark or fuel?

cranking the engine should create enough oil pressure to oil the entire motor....always.

Only if the PCV valve wasn't keeping Boost out of the valve cover.

Yes, no spark or fuel. Like after it's been sitting for a while and primin it before start up.

Had No catch can and flooded I/c and intake
