It doesnt matter. SR engine sets will almost always come with the transmission too. It just depends on where you get the engine from. The reputable places will include the trany, however those Ebay scammers wont.
I do have a question though. Why are you swapping the SR in right when you get the car? Judging by the question you asked, it doesnt seem like you know much about the SR or the 240 in general for that matter. So why swap out a perfectly good KA when you dont really know anything about the car in the first place.
Learn the car before you go diving into jDm TytE enGiNe sWaps yO. :rolleyes:
I'm not trying to be mean, I'm just being real with you.:)

How do you figure i dont know alot about the 240. i might not know everything but i know alot.I was raised around hondas and had a honda all my life.I know it is more work to swap a man. in a auto setup.I have done around 10 to 15 swaps on hondas but never on a nissan.Why would i get rid of the ka, i wouldnt be getting rid of it, it can sit in my garage, why do the swap you ask I say why not. in utah you dont see to many s14 with a sr20 in it.So thanks for look at my post but you didnt help me at all.

Swaping in the manual is very easy. I was a honda to nissan convert too. I have done the auto to manual swap. You need: clutch petal, rubber brake cover(just cut the brake petal), manual tranny, manual crossmember, Manual drive shaft, manual flywheel with bolts, slave cylinder, clutch master cylinder, clutch line, plate that goes in between tranny and engine, shifter, finisher plate, clutch and pressure plate. You will also have to bypass the neutral saftey switch. Nick

Well, if you know so much then you wouldn't have asked this question. :rolleyes:
Better yet, if you would've researched the SR swap into a USDM 240sx (which obviously you didnt) you wouldn't have asked this question.
And i didnt help you at all? I told you that it doesnt matter which tranny you have. So I DID answer your question. Read the first paragraph of my post. The thing is though, you could've answered your own damn question with a little research. Hell, there's a search function on this forum, but you didnt use that did you? Obviously not. I was trying to be nice by answering you in the first place, but your lazy *** didnt even appreciated that. All you did was whine about what i asked you. Don't get your panties all up in a bunch just because i gave you a hard time. If you dont want this to happen again, i suggest you quit being lazy and look up your answers for yourself. :rolleyes:

Next time you want to blow up on a newbie, ask yourself this question, can i answer his question off the top of my head in the time it takes me to rip on him?

But thats just the thing. I did answer his question in my first post. What ****ed me off was the fact that he totally disregarded that and said that i didnt help him at all when in fact i did answer his question. I even told the guy I wasnt trying to be mean and that I was just being real with him. But I guess neither you nor him bothered to read that far.
Oh and it doesnt take hours of research. This very forum by itself can answer pretty much all your questions about the SR swap. Thats what this (http://www.zilvia.net/f/search.php?s=) is for.

There are quite a few swap sites explaining the SR swap in great detail through their F.A.Q.s. Ask someone for some bookmarks referring to them and you should be set.:D
There are Silvia S14s sold in Japan with automatic transmissions so no, the auto shouldn't be a big pain.
Since I am bored yet in a helpful mood, I will give ya some links;
