Hello

I own a 1993 Automatic 240SX

I am having a hard time finding the Neutral safety switch. Where is it on the transmission? and which side of the car.

any pictures or detailed description would be greatly appreciated.

Auto's don't have a "neutral safety switch" like a 5-speed...

They have an inhibitor switch, for the gear selection...????

What's the issue you're having, that you need to find this neutral switch?

Auto's do have a neutral safety switch. If the car isnt in Neutral or Park you cant start the car.. Id take a pic for you, but im currently deployed.. ill search the net when i get a chance for you.

The neutral safety switch can be modified underneath the fuse/relay box on the passenger side of the engine bay. You need to cut and splice together the brown/yellow and green/blue wires. Please refer to the FSM of your chassis to ensure you are using the correct wires.

You do not need to change your ECCS to a manual transmission model. Doing the above modification will cause the ECCS and ATCU to think your vehicle is in Park at all times, but will not affect your engine performance.

The question has already been answered.

You need to learn how to read the FSM. Find the inhibitor switch harness at the battery area and follow the wires into the transmission area.

That will not help due to the NSF being removed off the transmission already.

I already found where it plugs in to.

Its behind the shift lever on the tranny.
Youll see the manual arm that moves the lever on the safety switch.
Look for the arm in pink(not actually pink on tranny).
It mounts behind that.

This is on page 94 in the AT section of the FSM.

Maybe you should start reading instead of asking random questions.

Maybe you could have takin the time you used for two sarcastic replies, and instead used it to help the kid out.
I know thats a crazy idea around here, but try giving it a shot.

Whats the difference between wasting forum space with "inexperienced" questions and the mass amounts of sarcastic replies used everyday on this site.

its on the usdm passenger side lower plug, just take a test light to it and put gear in/out to make sure. great thing to tap into for remote start systems so the car doesnt start launching forward when someone accidentally leave it in gear.
