The stock shaft can hold 500WHP. It is banging the clutch that can lay waste to the Universal joints. I would be more concerned about the half shafts and the transmission mounts myself.

Other than scary power or rough shifting, the stock shaft should do just fine.

That is a dealer item..or try your local salvage yard. Many salvage yards may not sell it separatly. Go to the dealer and prepare to pay some money. You need that center support.

They have drive shafts.

1 part... not stock 2 part crap

yeah, i got one from them in april. i had my mechanic install it since i was putting in an ACT clutch at the same time. they thought the driveshaft was too long, so they called the guys at enjuku, who talked to the guys that make the driveshaft, and they said it was supposed to fit tight. long story short...my mechanic put it in...i drove it around for a little while real easy and everything seemed fine. 15 minutes later as i pull off the highway, my car starts shaking like crazy....all kinds of noises you don't want to be hearing.....especially since my car is lowered and possibly untowable. again....long story short....it was about 1/4" too long. messed up my tranny seal, but it seems (still fingers crossed) that there was no damage to my transmission. anyway, after going back and forth with them, the refunded some of the money i blew installing and uninstalling it and they're now making their driveshafts a little bit shorter. nothing against enjuku, since it's not their fault and they were very helpful, but just beware if you decide to do that. next time, i'm going to a guy that builds custom driveshafts for street/strip domestics in the next town over. i apologize for the length....but it was a real headache at the time.

Thats why I have no problem whatsoever with using the stock driveshaft. I have a custom one but leaving one lockwasher off by mistake is enough to cause nasty vibrations and I put my stock one back in. Like I say, good for 500HP and if you have less than 300, I do not see it coming apart. Just dont bang the crap out of it and you are saving the whole drive train as well.

Not trying to diss the custom shafts but the stock shaft is plenty good for all but the most powerful installations. I guess due to the light weight of the custom shaft, balance is very critical.

At close to 500 bucks, I can think of a lot of goodies to employ other than replacing the stock shaft. If my custom one was not a gift, I'd have never paid that much.

Stock shaft is a hoss!!

That center piece is critical with the stock shaft due to all the massiveness.
