Hello.
This is probably a silly question, but can anyone confirm whether it is alright to remove the power steering return hardline that loops along the front of the cross member, and just run a hose directly from the reservoir to the rack?

I am already planning on using an aftermarket high pressure hose, so I was thinking, why not simplify the return line as well.
Or does it need to be a certain length? I have been wondering why it loops along the cross member as it does.

Thank you for any information.

its a cooler line, it cools the fluid, intended for common driver. Now think about what you will be doing with your vehicle?. I think you might wanna look into a real cooler

Awesome Thread!!

i always figured it was for cooling, my alternator made a hole in it a while back and i wondered how necessary it was to weld or if i could skip it....this is good info

Yeah i just deleted all of mine to simplify stuff and got a universal tranny cooler that i will be running inline on the return side instead.
