I am running Tein Flex coilovers on my S14. I have a squeak coming from ONLY the rear. It sounds almost like the spring is squeaking against the spring perch.
Originally thought it was a bushing squeak at the bottom but im having trouble hunting this noise down. Driving me nuts.
Its to the point where i can push down on the rear of the car and make it squeak!
Has anyone had this problem with their TEIN's?
or with any other Coilover setup?
I ran TEIN's on my last S14 and never heard this so im a little lost. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

i had the same noise. tein flexes. squeak in the rear. if i pushed down on the rear corner of the car i could duplicate it. but never tracked it down. last year i redid my subframe and arms etc. squeak went away. still do not know if the issue was really with the coilover.

did you install any aftermarket suspension parts? such as adjustable control arms? toe rod? camber arms? if you did, its mostly the bushing that cause the squeaking. and if you upgraded your sway bars and the bushing isnt lube correctly, it will also cause that problem. check it well.

Ok, thanks for the input! Sucks to pay good money for good suspension and have a squeak, you know!

I do have Adjustable Camber Arms in the rear. What is a good lubricant for bushings?
I have some White Lithium Grease spray in the garage that i have used for things but is there something better out there?

you should get the white lithium grease in a bottle, permatex makes a good one. its in a small tube and you just need a really think layer on the bushings, the metal parts, and through the bolts. and make sure to put some blue/green thread lock on the end of each bolt/threaded-in parts to make sure it doesnt unwind and fall apart. good luck and let me know if it fixed the problem.
the spray can type works fine. but leaves a yellow residue and smells for like a week or so.

I'd just raise up 1 side at a time and bounce it to see if you can pin point which side its coming from...Then from there, have a friend bounce on it while you hold on to the spring or control arms. As it squeaks, you should be able to "feel" it in the arm/spring or wherever its coming from. That's if its squeaking enough too though... Good luck.

another thing you might want to is replace the toe and traction arms. With just uppers being adjustable, it will put extra stress on the bushins in the other arms. this will cause a slight bind and will wear through any grease you put on. anything less is just a quick fix. this is one of the problems of a multi-link suspension.
