I got new engine room and a 5 speed lower engine harnesses because mine were mess. My car is 5 speed and the engine room harness i acquired is an auto. I'm doing some cleaning up of the harness and i need to know if plug e201 is necessary because the auto engine room harness does not contain the e17 plug that e201 is supposed to plug in to. I assume that i also plug e202 in with e19 even though the harnesses don't correspond? Help?

dude...go get a 5 speed engine room harness. i just did this and it was a wiring nightmare. so i went and bought a whole complete dash and chassis harness from a 5 speed.
1. you're missing a clutch neutral switch that enables the starter to kick on.
and the plugs you are talking about are for the alternator i believe. I tried to use some wiring from my old harness to the new auto harness i got. UMM yeah...no bueno.

I might have figured it out, so lmk if i'm wrong. e17 -> e201 completes the circuit for the starter but if you jumper the two wires on the e15 plug (rpm sensor) it allows the car to start. And you still plug in e18 -> e204 in order for the alternator charge circuit to be complete. Does this sound right?
