looks like he tried turning back onto the track while in the dirt. should have just cruised straight until he wasnt going so fast then turn back on...at least that's what i would haev done. keep the head on straight first.

i've seen it happen..mmm 3 times i've seen people total their cars at the track. not cool

one at the wall, another 2 rolled coming off the hill (too much speed-rolled 1 or 2 times)

part of the risk of the track

i've seen a accident at most every speedtrials event i've been to (4 of 7 had accidents of some sort)--2 rolls, one unlatched CF hood and 1 into the wall.

I read that the pics were a little late in getting the begingin of the wreck. The first pic in the sequence was already too late into the game. The car had already spun over 180 and was sliding sideways. The wheels dug into the mud and flipped the car. Painful............!

If that was my car, you wouldn't have even been able to sell the seats because of the huge brown stains.

My jaw actually dropped when I saw those pics. OMFG, I feel so bad for that guy, hopefully it was a rental and he had insurance :(

EDIT!! Wait a gall dang darn minute, where did the passenger go?! :aw:

You mean the passenger side airbag that inflated? It deflates in less than 0.7 of a second.

It helps to have a large screen for your computer!

I saw that on one of my local forums. One of my friends made the pics into an animation--very scary.

What makes the situation even more sad is seeing the owner in that last pic, looking like he's crying his eyes out (or maybe he's so emotional because he's not hurt).

A guy from the Bimmer forums said that this guy flipped and rolled after going off the track and catching the curb at about 100 mph. Could you imagine catching a curb going 100mph????

Yep. A guy in an old M3 (E30) did that right in front of me on the track once... he didn't roll though, instead when his car got back on the pavement it went straight across the track and hit the inside wall! Driver and instructor were unhurt. The car was totalled though.

But like you said... it's the risk you take. It's the reason I drive an S13. It's a great car, but it's also cheap enough that I can afford to lose it.

My friend in a g2 caught a curb on a turn at 140 mph at initial contact, welcome to the world of flipping 8 times. His arm fell out the sunroof and his car rolled on it. His arm is now supported with metal rods and his spirit supported with agony of wrecking his dream car. gg.
