Hey guys, new member here. I own a 04 350z but I have a buddy who's cousin is wanting to sell his coupe 240 after blowing the motor. I told him I pay under $1k for the shell without the engine or tranny but with everything else in tact so that I can put a new motor and tranny in and have no problem driving the car.

Details on car: The car is a 89 240sx Coupe, Black paint is in very poor shape with dents and deep scratches all over, has a moon roof, not sure if it works, front passenger fender is f*ed so needs new front fender but he is also throwing in two chaser fenders and 3 front bumpers, stock wheels, interior is in good shape and trunk does not have any rust, there is rust on the rear quarter panels on both sides and on the back part of the skirts.

What do you guys think I should be paying around, price wise?

I will include pics of the car once I receive them by email. I checked out the car today but did not have a camera to take detailed pics with.

I will be doing a full rebuild of the whole car though from interior, exterior, motor etc.. So do you all think 600 would be a good price to low ball at and see what he says?

Hopefully I will have the pics by later tonight to show you guys exactly what I'm talking about.

I think 600/700 would be good for both of u, or u can just buy it and do a complete part out and make well over what u spent. Yes it takes more time but u can prolly get a decent running one for what u make after the part out

keep in mind coupes are usually more expensive then hatches.. it doesnt look like its in bad shape and its a dohc shell so yeah definitely worth at least 600 bucks IMO

$800 seem reasonable if its clean title and frame is perfect.

Just asked if he could do $600 and he said he would get back to me tonight. Hopefully he goes for it. I don't think I'm going to get the wheels with it though, I have my stock Z wheels just sittin in the basement so I'll prob get a 5-lug conv. and throw them on
