I think I'm in the worst place for imports. I'm in Jacksonville, NC. All I see around here are a bunch of crap hondas, you know the ones that aren't even fast, just bodykits(ugly looking) cut springs, nonvtec POS with exhausts that big enough to stuff watermelons. If its not that its the cavaliers or neon with these loud exhaust that hurt my head when they get near me and venting nos into the air for no reason. They all buy there stuff from the same place(the local autozone) I haven't found a shop that mess with nissan, toyotas, or mazdas. I have a stock 240sx and these guys just pull up and they don't look a day over 18 and they take off like I'm going to race and when I don't they start circling me and annoying me and I end up taking off(fall right into their trap I guess). I always stay behind them because I don't want to get rearended so I get to see how they drive and If any of you guys see this, its the most pathetic thing I've ever seen in my life. I guess the springs where heated or cut so when they turn they don't have any kind of proper weight transfer or they just don't hit the brakes and understeer all the way through a turn and squeel tires. Seeing some trash like that I just stop because I don't even want to be around when they crash into something. I'm scared to see what happens when the same guys that are acting stupid go out and buy faster cars and drive the same way. Another thing I laugh at is these guys spend all kinds of cash on there little compact neons and civics and they go to the track and run 17's and 18's in the 1/4 mile. I'm sorry but I think anybody with any skill could run that on a stock vtec civic. If anybody has it worse than me with the import situation I wanna hear it. Oh, I know that cavaliers and neons aren't imports but when you see the ones here they look just like civics and eclipses so I just count them as imports.

well for some strange reason its cool to race in reverse now. i just happened infront of my grandmas house like 30min ago. two guys in pos cars racing in reverse. the guy losing turned the corner and he turned too much so when he corrected himslelf he hit some car parked on the side of the road....idiot. we have just as many ricey cars down here in miami as we have phat cars. only thing is we have a shitload of shops.

imports and other non v8 cars are crap here too. i was at best buy and as i was coming out i hear a fart muffler on a cavalier, and two guys about 18 or 19 with one of their dad's looked back to see what the #### it was. the dad shook his head, and the two guys looked at eachother like it was cool, then they looked at me and then my car, and looked at me again to see if i would say anything, and i said oh my god, what a piece of crap and then they both said YEAH, THAT'S CRAP! it's almost like they wanted my opinion on the ricey cavalier before they'd make a comment. honestly i hate imports alltogether besides certain nissan cars

hey minime686 I was in south beach last weekend and saw a mustang parked infront of a shop, it had green paint, white convertible top, chrome trim pieces, huge exhaust tips, altezza tailights, and ofcourse a GTR emblem on the trunk. I wanted to go in the store find the owner and sit he/she down for a long talk, either that or mock them till they cried.

Here in Cambridge, there is a HUGE Portuguese and Italian population. Due to that, there are absolute hordes of Civics, CRXs, Preludes, and Neons.
A lot of them, however, actually have things under the hood. A guy down my street has a '98 Civic coupe, with a B18C engine and a Blitz turbo system in it. It goes like a bat out of ####.
2 houses up from me is an Asian guy with a '99 Prelude, that has a $16,000 paintjob done to it. Stock wheels, everything else, but SIXTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS worth of paint on it. It doesn't even look that good.
Right next door is a 21 year old guy with a '98 Chrysler Sebring. Loaded, jet black with gold trim. Absolutely beautiful car. He has 18" TSW VX1 wheels on it, and they look perfect on the car. It was dropped 2 inches with Enkei springs. Its an automatic, but get this: He has a twin turbo system under the hood! No specs on it, and I've never seen him open the car up on the street, but I guess it goes like ####.

And you really believe him that he's got a $16000 paintjob?

I wonder if these realize that the money they take to crap out their cars they could actually build their car up to run pretty fast. Theres one thing I respect about the old muscle cars. They don't waste money on stuff that they don't need and just build a car with just pure power. All these cars with the crazy gt wings and stuff people pay hundreds of dollars for, I know that the wings make a difference but I highly doubt that alot of these people drive good enough to actually need the gt wings and whatnot. If you're getting them for the tracks its one thing but the folks that drive around on the streets don't drive fast enough to really need those things, and if you do you're crazy and stupid for driving around on the street at those speed. I guess people get this stuff just to make their cars look good but and I like the way they look but when I see a geo with GT wings or a civic ex with one I just want to slap them.

I live in a great place for Imports... Rockland, NY
we got all the domestic competion anyone could ask for... alotta super fast camaros and stangs... And you see alotta nice rides... We got a nice share of riced out rides here of course.. but the seen is good.. anice amount of 300zxs, not alotta 240s as in most places though.....the cool thing is there are alotta hondas but you see less hooked up ones then you would think....its cool though, it keeps the competition up though
I think the worst place for imports would be somwhere out inthe midwest
Oh dude down in Jacksonville NC, are there muscle cars out there, or like older big block domestics... my friend is from there and he said his dad has this Charger that has more hp then most fighter jets -=)

Yeah I've seen some badass domestic muscle cars down here. Import wise I've only seen one car thats nice. Its a white eclipse. It looks bone stock from the outside but it runs 11's in the 1/4 mile. The folks down here told me that they'll be alot more cars here in the summer so I'll atleast have that to look foward to. Then again in the summer I don't think I'm going to be hanging around Jacksonville.

worst place is right here in Michigan. Ever hear of The Motor City? I get so much crap for my car out here it's not even funny. The import scene is growing though, so it'll get better. Not to mention the #### snow. I can't wait to get out of this state.
Talk about a tragic situation, I recently moved from the Bay Area ( NorCal pride! ) to Nashville, TN. After moving here I realized how desolate the local import scene is. We are talking on the scale of one (halfway) decent shop found within a 100 mile radius of Nashville.
As of yet, the only people I have come across on a regular basis that wish to have a run seem to be middle-aged mullet-sporting men, driving mid-80s Camaros, who are incessantly blaring Ted Nugent.
I really hope that there is an actual import scene that I have yet to find......

all this talk abotu rice reminds em of what I just saw like an hour ago. From far I see an Si Blue car with altezzas couldnt really tell what it was until I got closer too it and first thing I see is a Type R sticker, not a badge a sticker ( I guess ricers are getting cheap). Then I look at the altezzas and I realize it is a 4 door Integra, and it has a really big Shogun wing. I wanted to drive next to it and just shake my head at the guy but I had to go to Subway (I was hungry). Plus Jared says that Subway sandwiches will help me lose wait lol.
