Vivos - Underground Shelter Network for Surviving 2012 and Beyond (http://www.terravivos.com/)
The Vivos shelter system has been engineered to withstand a 50 megaton blast within 10 miles, and virtually any other force that either nature or mankind may create. The state-of-the-art Vivos design is based on a spoke cluster of 10 radiating residential wings, surrounding a 2 story, 60 foot diameter central dome. The complex includes community gathering areas and private suites providing comfortable and spacious accommodations with about 100 square feet per person.

The Red Cross advises that a long-term underground shelter should be at least 40 square feet per person. FEMA advises a minimum of 50 square feet per person. Vivos intends to provide a minimum of 100 square feet of floor area per person. This would be equivalent to 1 person occupying a 10 foot by 10 foot room.

Engineering of the Vivos shelter system has been in cooperation with Hardened Structures, specialists in the design and covert construction of hardened underground facilities.

Once a Vivos shelter is occupied and under lock down, the co-owner members will elect a Vivos Council to direct the day to day operations of the shelter during the period of emergency shelter use.

The Vivos Council will be made up of 12 members, or a minimum of 1/12 of the total population (whichever is greater) in the facility. Each council member will rotate their chair every 30 days, wherein a new group of members will be elected to take their place. No council member may serve on a Vivos Council until all other ready, willing and able members have each had a chance to serve. Once that has occurred, then the cycle of council members will begin again, with the original group of members serving for the next 30 day period, progressively followed by each subsequent council member group thereafter. Should any member of a prior group be unwilling, or unable to serve as a council member an additional time, then a new member will be elected to that current Vivos Council from the entire population of the shelter. It is the intent of this structure to allow all members the opportunity to serve, with equal authority and responsibility for the neutral and mutual benefit of all other members.

The Vivos Council will manage and enforce the Rules and Regulations, and the Code of Conduct that has been adopted by the Vivos Owners’ Association. Any change to those rules must be voted on by all co-owners of the respective Vivos shelter with a minimum of a two-thirds majority vote required to enact a change.
Each Vivos facility is equipped with its own internal power generation system, backup battery banks, deep water wells, biological, chemical and radiation air filtration systems, sewage disposal systems, abundant food and clothing storage, security devices, medical equipment and supplies and critical support equipment including off-road vehicles.

Prior to any engagement of a Vivos shelter, the Vivos Group will provide operational oversight of each Owners’ Association for ongoing maintenance, replenishment, security, monitoring, surveillance, notifications and advisories. Once a facility is occupied and under lock down, the co-owners will elect a board and takeover autonomous operation and management of their Vivos facility.

these are gonna be like the vaults in fallout. i'd rather die of irradiation than be subject to some weird military testing.
