Is a sohc speedometer interchangable with dohc?

No it is not. You can make it work, but have to switch some wiring around. The only reason people would switch the wiring to make it work is because the max speed on the single cam tach is I believe 125, as the dual cam one is only 120. Otherwise, just swap the tachs with the correct motor...

What? I'm pretty sure they work, dudeson. It's just that the tachometer on the two are different.
I've done this with Digital clusters and non digital clusters.
Speed cuts have nothing to do with gauge clusters

Yes, but only on S13 dohc.

G6civic x is right, I just swapped the digital on my 93 for a analog from a 89, took out my tach that still worked... my digital speedom was dead... and installed the dohc tach in the sohc analog cluster, and it works... have to swap the sub harness too tho, it plugs in behind the middle vents, left the original sub harness incase I ever find a cheap digital and want to go back to that...

So do I need the sub harness from the sohc or is it plug n play into the dohc?

If it's analog to analog, it' plug and play.
Instead of running around in circle, tell me what year your car is. Is the speedo original?
Then tell me the year of the donor speedo. Is that original to the donor car?
