i just did a 5 speed swap and im using a auto ecu is my car . will this effect it from passing smog ?
cuz in a month i have to try and get my car smog again .
ive been trying to research it but cant find anything , or maybe im just searching the wrong words .

Is it a S13 or S14? I know for a fact S14 will cause a CEL.

Though to answer your question. No the 5 speed swap will not effect your smog at all on a S13. On a OBDII S14 it can if you do not use a 5 speed ecu and do not hook everything up, then it will throw a CEL.

not to thread jack but i was just curious what the penalties are if the smog place was.. i guess wrongfully passing cars even tho they were not in compliance with regulations? if this is a stupid question just say so haha

i also have another question , just like last week my car started to ideal really funny , it started idealing at 1500 and some times at night when i start driving and when im at a stop light the ideal keeps going up and down from 1500 to 500 and it even goes down past that sometimes .
if anyone can help me thankss soo much .
