Just took my car to a shop earlier today, that has done good work in the past for me. Anyway I got my megan mounts installed by them on my KA, but comparing my driver side mount installed to other s14s online, it seems mine is on backwards (not saying upside down). In other words the heat shield/bracket isn't to the right side of the mount but instead the left.

Is it possible for the mount to go on more than one way, cause I don't see but one way for the shield to go on, so I'm thinking it has to be the mount that's on wrong? I went of the pic below, which is how I found most s14s to be, when I looked up online for reference. So the only way I can see to get it facing to the right (facing steering shaft) is turn the mount around? Also note the smaller of the two studs the shield slides over, the smaller one on mine is to the back while the one in the pic is to the front? This also had me wondering. Is there only way for the mount install or can it be rotated?

Suppose to take the car back to them tomorrow and have them look at it, I printed out the same pic above to explain to them

Thanks for any input

The mounts are installed on the wrong sides of the engine if your shop would have read the megan motor mount instructions these mounts are for the sr20det and can be installed on a KA. But if you install them on a KA the left goes on the right and the right goes on the left which will reverse the heat shield bracket which you wont need because the heatshield on the factory mounts are supposed to be on the side of the mount towards the firewall no towards the front of the car. So switch the mounts to the opposite sides

I knew it could be installed on either or, but didn't see any instructions with the mounts I recall

mine came with an instruction sheet saying to install them on the opposite sides for a KA which will reverse the bolt on the mount for the heat shield

First off, thanks for help. Now on to those instruction lol, I feel left out the loop now. I don't recall any. I got the outer box they were shipped in, then the box megan shipped in. Went back and checked my room and the boxes didn't see any instructions.

Here's how mine ended up installed.

Needless to say the difference, compare to the first pic

Cool thanks. While on the subject, how bad are your vibrations and rattles with these mounts. It's a lil more than I thought there would be. I was mainly expecting my interior to rattle, but the hood trunk and front bumper does too. Did yours ever kinda settle or break in? I doubt its gonna happen cause far as I know they're all polyurethane, so they probably don't become weaker? My stock old mounts, I could actually compress em a tad just be squeezing. Even the way the drivers mount is installed now, the performance is great despite not being use to the extra vibration/noises. Also got rid of that clunk every time I let off the gas all of a sudden.

Sorry out of town for a few days but no luck with that paper the only thing i could really do is look at my mounts bu i have them on a S14 sr20det so your application would just be switched around because the mounts are reversed for a KA application. As far as the vibration yeah just get used to it. It does not go away. I love these mounts on my car because there is no play with the engine and transmission but there was all sorts of play with everything else bolted on the car, mostly interior but i had to snug down my fiberglass bumper and make different brackets for it to be more solid. And I went trough the interior about 5 times to get every little thing i could but it was a small sacrifice for the feel of the car the way it is through the shifts. Tried Nismo mounts and was very dissapointed with them, got these and never had any regrets.
