What are the lowest cost ones? I'm looking for something with a fiberglass shell with sidemounting. I have Corbeau Forzas right now SCCA and FIA approved but they are bottom mount and I have to remove the cushion when wearing my helmet.
Don't want to break my wallet because I have other projects I'm working on. If it gets too pricey I guess I'll just stay cushionless.

Wow, I came on here to post this exact same question.
The Sparco Sprint 5 is what I was looking at. It's FIA homologated, weighs about 16-17lbs, can be sidemounted now, and goes for around $300.
Anyone else with some recommendations?

What kind of racing are you guys doing that requires an FIA homologated seat?

This will be going into my S13 track car that I will be using for drifting. FIA homologation is not required but I figure why not be as safe as I can. I'm definitely gonna hit something at some point.
I'm trying to build the car on a budget but it's not a huge jump from a chinabay seat to a $300 Sparco.

You could not sidemount the older Sprint seats. The improvements to the Sprint 5 included a hole for a submarine belt and the ability to mount them on the bottom or side.
