It works. Basically add yourself one of those big 100A fusible links to put the two together if you don't already have one.

Yeah!

I did my relocation, it's a sinch. Just get some 2/4 Gauge power wire from a stereo shop, they gave me 17' for $30.00, the stereo shop 2 doors away from them tried to charge me $70.00 for 13', I laughed in his face.

Get those 2/4 Gauge ends from Autozone, crimp/solder the wires to the ends and you've got yourself a ride or die power cable that's gonna run to the back and be completely fine under the carpet.

add a fuse either way, because then it blows the fuse rather than catching your car on fire.

Yes a fuse switch is a must! also very handy when working on the car... instead of having to unplug the wire you just flip the switch then switch it back when done :snoop:

^never heard of such a thing called a 'fuse switch'

what places have fuse connectors for 0-4guage wires? is 100amperage enough?

what he means is resettable circuit breaker

Here's my breaker set up. It's getting changed to 1/0ga wire and going to be run to a 4 way distribution block for the amp, capacitor, etc.

Parts store.

They suck for a main power supply. They have a high impedance and fail over time.

I would recommend a MEGA fuse.

Amazon.com: Littelfuse 298900 Automotive Single Terminal Fuse Holder: Automotive (http://www.amazon.com/Littelfuse-298900-Automotive-Single-Terminal/dp/B001FXL4Q0)

EXACTLY what I've been looking for. Now I don't have to spend $30 for some pretty "audio" fuse box.

With as thick a gauge wire as batteries go, your going to want to do it right. do not cheap out when it comes to electrical. comon man

was that directed to the OP? I just don't see a need for a smoked plexi, platinum plated compression fitting fuse holder.

Haha. I almost got jumped on Canal St. I was looking at some dudes iphone wrong. Haha.

Thanks for the link, S14DB. 100 amp fuse for the main power fuse, correct? They have 100 and 125 (and I am sure others).

100 is fine. I think the stock starter is like 75. I have a 150 cause that's all they had at the store.

You are just protecting the relocation line from shorting out if it rubs and grounds out between it and the stock battery terminal. The stock fuses still do their jobs. So, going big isn't a big issue.
