I need help with wiring for the following gauges.

1) AEM Wideband Air/Fuel Gauge 8.5 to 18:1AFR with Black Analog Face AEM Part# 30-5130B
2) AEM Oil Pressure Gauge 0-100PSI w/Black Analog Face AEM Part# 30-5133B
3) Oil Temperature Gauge 40-148C w/Black Analog Face AEM Part# 30-5140MB

Fuse Holder:

5A fuse:
5A Blade-Type Automotive Fuses (3-Pack) - RadioShack.com (http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2102768)

According the AEM wiring diagram (http://www.aemelectronics.com/Images/Products/Installation%20Instructions%2030-5130.pdf), I need to wire the gauges to 12V constant with 5A fuse, switched 12V power with 5A fuse, and instrument lights.

Are those the 5A fuse and fuse holder that I need?

I have a S13 hatchback. I am new to wiring gauges. What is the best way to do this? I searched and some people said use radio or cigarette wiring. I am looking for details for the wiring locations for 12V constant, switched 12V power, and instrument lights.

Thanks.

i've never owned AEM gauges, but if that's what the wiring diagram calls for then the answer is yes. those two items you posted will work fine. you may be able to find a fuse holder that is rated for less than 30A that has a thinner gauge wire. the wire on the 30A holder is a little thick for what you are trying to do, however, it will work fine if that's what you want to use.

for my gauges i pulled the constant and switched 12V signals from the stereo harness, never had any problems whatsoever.

Could you tell where is the best way to get instrument lights? I don't think steering column and cluster is easy to access. Maybe I should tab the wire near the ECU?

i get that signal from the stereo harness too. it's the "illumination" wire

ic so all wires that I need - 12V constant, switched 12V power (http://zilvia.net/f/#), and instrument lights can be found in radio harness.

Someone recommended me to use relay for 12VDC power. Do you think it is a good idea too? Please see the picture link above.

Thanks!

you can if you'd like, but i have never found it necessary. i think as long as you have the fuses you should be fine.

Do you install a 30A fuse for main 12VDC wire and a 5A fuse for each of the branch wires?
