My brother in law has a sr20det in his s13 and has a ECU problem.
Modifications
-fmic
-full exhaust
-intake
-550cc injector
-stock boost
-fpr
-fuel rail
With the stock ECU the car turns on and everything works except it doesn't go above 3k rpm so we think its bc of the stock ecu combined with all the mods.
We have a PFC connected it but theres no power to the ecu, took it to apexi they tested it and theres power when they connect it straight up but when its connected in the car nothing shows up on the commander, car doesn't start basically nothing happens.
We know the PFC works bc he bought it brand new and had it in a different chassis but same motor and everything worked fine before.
You guys have any idea whats going on?
Thanks
Moe

Not sure about why it's not working, but you have to rescale the injectors, you know that, right?

What do you mean by rescale the injectors?

Possible ECCS relay problem. I had a similar problem with my PFC and it turned out that the ECCS relay was wired incorrectly.

Is the PFC for that ECU/harness?!?!

You can;t just put 550 cc injectors in and inspect it to just run fine.
The stock injectors are 370 cc, so you have to input a correction for this.
It takes the injector opening times and multiplies them by ~370/550.
If you do this the car should be driveable, but I would still go get tuned right away and don't let it build boost on the way to the tuner's shop.

Yah the car will get a tune as soon as the PFC starts working.

Yes it is we had this same setup in a different S13 chassis and it work fine before

If i can't find the problem is it easier to wire up a switch to turn the ecu on/off?
If so how do i do it?

hope that helps
maybe ground the ecu?

I'll check if the existing grounds are still good.
From that thread...
only other thing i can think of would be to manually simulate a power on condition. meaning that you provide the ecu the proper 12v's and grounds.
How do i do this?

i know there's a red wire that powers the PFC and such. trying to figure out my shit too. everything turns on but when i turn off the car, it resets all the memory. from what i've been reading, the pfc should be given 12v at all times. sound correct?
to answer your PFC questions on how to use it, i found this.
