View Full Version : The most satisfying car you've driven?

My current car is a P10. I'm honestly still looking for my most satisfying drive. Everything seems to be lacking something when I get out of the driver's seat. I have a very limited list of cars i've driven. Eg hybrid civic, RSX, turbo tacoma, miata(had high hopes for that one)... still waiting for someone with an s13 to let me drive "spirited" in it.

Anyone care to share?

i love my S13 and my NA Z32 but the most satisfying would have to be a 200? S4 AWD wow that car was quick, fastest car ive driven (havent driven many fast cars) and my first(and only) twin turbo(or even single at that) too bad i cloudn't drive it the whole weekend instead just a couple hours. but that was fun.:)

i haven't really driven that many cars, but i'd have to say that the most satisfying was an s2000. i just love the way that car handles from stock. it's not that fast and you can't really buy anything that'll give more power save for a turbo or supercharger, but it's absolutely a blast to drive.

got you all beat: 97 F355 spyder with 26,XXX miles on it. My Uncles boss let me drive it. Shifting a ferrari is like driving no other. He also has a 360 modena but he said i couldn't drive it.

Didn't drive but was driven in a few times. Mercedes Benz S600:eek: . Wow is that thing fast as hell, and such a comfortable ride. You barely notice how fast you are going cuz its soo smooth. And its fun to play with all the little things like recliners seat warmers and coolers and air pressurized seats. And this is for all the seats.

Wow what a great ride. Can't wait to go back and visit my uncle, maybe he'll let me drive it, but I doubt, nobody ever drives it but him :(

i think the most satisfying, for me, would be a single turbo supra. its my friend's car. its f00ckin fast. its all decked out on suspension too so it handles. was on the freeway just cruising, when i look down i was doing a buck 20!

Its not straight line fast, but I really enjoyed driving a miata. I like the car, but I could never see myself owning one because, well, ITS A MIATA.

haha, i fell in love with a 1994 bmw 850csi just the other day....its got a v-12 pushing 400hp to the rear wheels through a 6-spd manual, and its as quick as a vette, and can handle almost as good as they can...just an all around amazing car, and can you say extras? everything that is on that car is stock...i cant wait to buy one when i get out of college...

i'd probably also have to say s2000. not the fastest straight line car i've driven (my old 2.1 16v twin webered 83 gti was) but it just felt 'right.'

Most satisfing car had to be E36 M3. The car just felt sorted. It had the perfect amount of power, braking, handling. It was my girlfriend's dad's car. He let me drive once (way back when) when we went out and he got too drunk.

Then he started harassing me on how slow I was driving...last time he'll do that:eek: :D

R32 GT-R. I wasn't used to the clutch but it was really fun to drive. Probably not fun for the owner though.

400hp civic was my most exciting drive. it was a friends car and i took it down the road a few times. i was holding that steering wheel tight. it was really fun though. i never really felt like i didn't have control. he has good suspension to match the power so that helps

Ever drove one when it's under the sun for a while? You WILL hate that shifter.

Anyways, gotta be the old Cartune GS300 w/ 550 RWHP.

I didnt drive it, but I rode in it with my friend. :bowdown:86 Chevy Van!! You cant hurt that thing, we hit about 8 garbage cans and raped a mailbox about 11:00 p.m. thursday night, all in about a 15 minute period. It had a tv, vcr, and playstation in it. Also a bed and black lights above the windows, ghetto(spray) painted white rear rims with a half painted rear bumped and white chevy bowtie emblem. and rust all over the body. You cant find a much funner vehicle to drive/ ride in!!

I've enjoyed lots of cars for different reasons but one of the most fun cars I've driven for any length of time was a second gen MR2 with some mild upgrades.

My second gen MR-2 is the most satisfying car I've ever driven. It's hard to beat the handling of an MR car and hearing the engine whining behind you pulling out of a turn is just incredible. :D

Another Bill Roberts long post...

My fav can be seen here, it will go for about 190K

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2422084942&category=5358

Overall, I rate my 240SX #3 in satisfaction. The list:

3. 1989 Nissan 240SX Fastback
4. 1969 Chevrolet Camero Z-28/302 4 bolt main option
5. 1993 Lola/Oldsmobile "indi" racer. Fun in droves
6. 1984 Porsche 911
7. 1971 Chrvrolet Cargo Van 454 (2) 4 barrels with "Grice electronics" painted on the side
8. 1970 Plymouth Hemi Cuda
9. 1972 Nova, 532 GM engine (beast, goosebumps doing 8.6second et)

Well, I think their cars are great, but I personally don't like their attitude. They're always talking about how advanced the technology is in their cars, but it's really not... Nearly every other car company has an equivilent if not better (can somebody say ATESSA?) technology behind their cars.

Porsches were always cool but never really worth when you thought about all the money. Especially boxsters. I had a killer time with a 6 spd carrera 4 on some stone one time however. :D

The joys of working for the auto auction. ;)

Porsche touts their engineering, not their technology. There's a bit of a philosophical difference there. There's nothing groundbreaking about Variocam or the Carrera 4's AWD system or any of that. It's all in the artful execution of technology.

By the way, the Porsche 959's PSK AWD system beat ATTESA E-TS PRO to market by a few years.

I guess you're right about the difference between engineering and technology, but I still think they're a bit egotistical.

I was at a car auction a few years ago at Charlotte Motor Speedway. There was a Viper there to be auctioned...for BIG bucks I might add. Some jerk was moving the car from one place to another and it got away from him. Next thing you know that Viper is on a car carrier with very little recognizable left on the front half of the car.

Sad...so sad:rolleyes:

I cant say I have been very impressed with anything... Hopefully my MCS14 with Tein Flex and all sorts of Cusco goodies will impress me enough....

MY CAR BY FAR!!! I love how my sr powered 240 throws me back into my seat! I testdrove the mitsu evo VIII, and I was a not all that impressed. It's not worth the 41,000 after dealer markup. Very nice car...just not worth the cost. IMO

The car I would most love to drive, and lust over...S15!!! Damn, I think I'm obsessed with that car. I want the pink yashio factory s15!

The vanquish is an amazing car as well, has anyone actually had an opportunity to drive one? I would LOVE to hear about it.

Bill Roberts
07-13-2003, 11:58 AM
I did. Their is a lot to talk about with the AM Vanquish, it is comfortable, fairly quiet until you unleash the V12, loses about 70K of its value once it has been driven off the showroom floor. Speedo is marked up to 210MPH, should do 190/195. Gets about 14MPg on the highway and around 11 in the city.

I would say that I overall do not like British cars. This one is quite different.

I will be happy to answer any question I know first hand about it but their are a lot of details. I did not flog it out..you just can't do that with a 200+K car that you do not own. I did hit it pretty good at 50 to 100 and it was there "right now"..most amazing power, short of a jet airplane.

You know how a 757 feels right after it gets rolling...on takeoff, the feel of from 5 seconds after they throttle up to about 10 seconds? That is how the vanquish feels under acceleration. Like a jet Airplane. IT does not beat you to death, just everything you would need in a true exotic sports machine. It is big, it is heavy, it is fast, it is comfortable. Best of all worlds.

I also drove a Rolls Royce Corniche IV convertable and I thought the AM drove better, even if it were not so powerful.

Their is no waiting list. They have two in stock at the local dealer. I did not ask to drive it, I was invited to. Makes a difference.

This is the finest description in words of the car..

read all 4 pages.
