I'm rockin the Fulmer FMA1 Flat black model. Same Helmet Tanner Foust uses.
I actually got it for free when I entered the free helmet contest on Formuladrift.com and won! Weight is about average and I love the way it fits. You can get tinted visors for it but have not found where they sell them.

ive got a Bell Sport 3, got it almost 2 yrs ago for just under $300, google for specs, i dunno about visors, only used it like 4 times so far but I like it, I almost got one of these:
Zamp FSA-1 Helmet (http://www.soloracer.com/zampfsa1.html)
but read bell was better, I later talked to a guy who had one and liked it, honestly my bell didnt look that much better... so if i had to do it again I mite save the $100 bux...

i have a zamp FSA1. picked it because it was cheapest sa2005 full face i could find.
should be $200 or less.
only helmet i ever had so i can't compare to other helmets.
there are visor options. smoked, gold and chrome, iirc.
in terms of weight it's a bit heavy for my liking.
build quality could have been better. plastic air vent things were not glued on properly right out of the box. had to put them back on myself.
i get nauseous and annoyed wearing it for a long period of time.
besides that i don't have much to say about it.

special applications. snell has three different standards. SA, M and K. essentially car, motor cycle and kart.
What are the differences between the SA, M and K standards?
The SA standard was designed for competitive auto racing while M standard was for motorcycling and other motorsports. The K standard was released to accommodate helmets used in karting. There are three major differences between them:
1. The SA standard requires flammability test while the M and K standards do not.
2. The SA and K standards allow for a narrower visual field than M standard (Some SA and K certified helmets may not be street legal).
3. The SA and K standards include a rollbar multi impact test while M standard does not.

How would compare those Pyrotect one and Racequip Ridgeline ???
I have a Pyrotect helmet that I use for the track and although I can't compare it to the Racequip one. I can compare it to my Scorpion EXO 700 motorcycle helmet. I like the feel of the Pyrotect cheek pads more than the Scorpion ones. The Pyrotect cheek pads are a lot softer and just more comfortable, not that my Scorpion one's aren't, but the Pyrotect ones has the edge between the two. The Pyrotect one does feel like it weighs a little more though, but I don't spend hours in the Pyrotect helmet so the extra weight never bothered me. Wind noise is also louder, but you shouldn't have to worry about that in a car. My complaints with the Pyrotect is that it doesn't take much to knock the visor from the up position to the close position. Atleast that's the way mine is now after 3 years. The visor pivoting system could have been done better. The glue holding the seal around the face opening also gets weakened when exposed to heat for a while, like a hot sweaty head, sitting inside a hot car, on a hot day, with no AC. I hope this review helps a little.
i got a zamp one for 175. its sa2005 approve.

Simpson SuperShark speedwayFX and SuperBandit V
My sisters both use impact - DraftJR and Vapor
My mom has the Charger.
The impact stuff recently had some issues with Snell approvals but it has been cleared up
I prefer simpsons helmets even tho the company is no longer affiliated with bill simpson (impact)

AGREED, if you have a $55 head, then buy a $55 helmet. A helmet is one of those places you never skimp on and buy something cheap that mite work. Get the rite thing that is guarranteed and be done with it. They do save lives after all.

I have that Fulmer Tanner Faust helmet (of course, had to resticker the whole thing). It seemed to be the cheapest SA helmet I could find. Figured people would get serious about drifting and really start cracking down on helmet codes.
Before that was a random hand-me-down from my dad. It was red and made for motorcyclists.

I have the vent on top to plug in the race car
I have a hjc sl16 motorcycle helmet, I like it a lot.
Not too much padding like the helmet I used to use, which was some expensive icon helmet,
AND my absolute favorite feature is the anti-fog shields!
It'll NEVER fog up, unlike some other anti-fog shields I've tried.
It's reallatively cheap, probably 100-200 range, but I love it.
http://www.thehelmetcenter.com/images/D/cl16black.JPG
I wouldn't really recommend it for track use in a car though,
just because it's a motorcycle helmet and all.
You should buy a helmet specifically made for the type of driving/riding you're going to do.
Fuck that tanner foust talk,
I'm going to order the Simpsons Bandit helmet for when I drive my car. :)
I love top gear.... <3
