first off...i have searched for the past 2 days on what could be wrong, so that solves the search question (i stated this first because in most threads ppl say search)

the car is a 93 nissan 240 with a sr20det...motor is the same exact thing as cody ace as he is the one that built it with me

i moved the car on mon night to get my brothers mustang into the garage and everything was normal

went to go drive it tue night and the car just cranks and wont actually start

1. battery has been charged on trickle charger and i even tried to jump start the car
2. car has spark in all 4 cyls (pulled coilpacks and plugs out and tested)
3. car has fuel to rail and the injectors have power (waiting for friend to show up with noid tester)
4. swapped my enthalpy ecu for my wolf ecu (yes i have 2 ecu's with the exact same tune on them) and the problem is still there

that was the major things i did first

next i checked all fuses, connectors, connections, grounds, anything and everything else, and they all seemed to be good

i talked all this over with cody and he is even stumped as to what it could be

so now i turn to you zilvia to try and help me out...maybe there is something that myself and cody missed that you could point out

thanks for the help

Temp sensor/wiring.

Temp sensor/wiring.

that was my next guess (temp sensor)

i know the wiring should be good as the car was perfectly fine because i have 1000 miles on it in march alone

Why would the sensor keep it from turning on?

Why would the sensor keep it from turning on?

your right the car would start even if the sensor was bad

but if im getting spark and fuel what wiring could be bad not allowing the car to start?

just searched and its pin 18 on the ecu

blue/orange wire...gonna go check it now and see what happens

Coolant Temp Connector - connect to coolant temp subharness
Blue/Orange - sensor signal for coolant temp, pin 18 of ECU
Black - sensor ground, connect to ground
Blue/Black - thermal transmitter, not needed

when i pulled the plug apart i turned the key to the on position to test the plug with a test light...when i hooked the test light up to a ground the blue/orange didnt light up, the black did not light up, but the blue/black one faintly lite up...how could it lite up if its not needed?

Just throwing this out there. Check the voltage of the battery while your cranking. This happened to me and recharged the battery and it started. Few hours later it wouldnt start. During cranking the battery showed 8 or 9 volts. Changed the battery and it was okay.

Lol I think it's bc u moved the 240 to put the mustang in the garage... Lmao... But anyways my old civic did the same it would start than the next morning it died, it was my battery, replaced it and the connectors n it ran fine... Til it got stolen

I bought a coupe with an sr that had the same prob. turned out to be the main ecu relay right by the firewall on the passenger side.

lol i joked around and said i figured it knew the mustang was getting a big turbo and might be faster than it so it got jealous and wouldnt start haha

but on a side note cody ace came over and looked at the motor than he asked me to start it and the damn car started right up hahah

no idea why but its good to go now...thanks zilvia for all the ideas...now i gotta make a nice build thread about this 400hp monster

Temp sensor is out of wack. Next time it does hold the gas to the floor when starting. Just left off quick when it starts. It's running rich and kinda fluds. Whith the throttle plate wide open it's lean enuff to start. New temp sensor is about 25$ I've seen this happen just cause the plug isn't seated enuff.

check your voltage on the battery. i had this problem before but correct me if i'm wrong.

so an update on the car

if i prime the fuel pump twice before i start the car it will start, when the engine is cold, but if the engine is warm than i can start it right away even without letting the fuel prime fully prime

going to order a temp sensor, but i wanted to ask if this made sense?

What type of voltage are you getting at the fuel pump?

Also what sort of fuel pressure are you getting while the car is priming>

ill double check the voltage today when i run to cody's shop along with the battery voltage while cranking

i think the pressure goes up to 50-60 but every since we built this motor its been like that
