Ok so im trying to wire up my 2 gauges both are autometer 1 is wideband and the other is mech boost/vac. I want to find out what wire to tap into to get my boost gauge light to come on when I turn my lights on. Also on the wide band where should I tap into it needs 12vlt Igntion source it. Please and thanks. And I did search and everybody has electirc gauges and directly hooked up but to radio power and i dont want to do that.

The only way I know of is to tap into the ignition wire going to the radio.
Or you can do what I did since I have a short somewhere in my wiring. I just ran a wire from the battery with a switch that switches on all my aftermarket electronics radio, gauges, etc.
You could also put a fuse in the line to be safe.

There are a couple places to tap ignition-switched +12V... at the radio is probably safest. One of the wires will have no volts on it with the car off, and +12V with the car turned on, that's the one you want (there's also a constant +12V wire in there, don't use that).
For the illumination, you can tap the illumination wire going into the radio (no volts unless the lights are on, then it'll have +12V), or grab it right off the headlights/turn signal stalk (forgot the color).

thanks for the help. I tapped my boost gauge off the old radio illumination light since its no longer used because i have a after market radio. And my wideband I tapped off the ignition. Thanks to finding my multi meter I was able to limit the guessing game
