I raced my freinds S10 lastnight.  he beat me bad.  i raced a Camaro also, i would say for 30ft i stayed with it then it just walked off.  Oh well i need to get that 5k governer off

Do an KA's have a 5k gov? I have never revved mine that high, I just shift at 3k. I was under the impression that the only gov was at 115 mph. Mine is a DOHC, not like it matters though.

#### that really sux... u shouldn't have lost to the s-10, unless it had a lot of mods, and u shouldn't have lost to the v-6 camaro either.. i'm not bullshittign, but all i have is a centerforce clutch exhaust and intkae and i tear up v-6 camaros, and an s-10 would be a joke.. but anyways u don't have a 5K rpm governor..

S10's got lots of torque he beat &nbsp;a V8* camaro that night the same one i raced.
And i Do have a 5k governer bc my ECU is in Safemod or soemthing. &nbsp;I need to replace some stuff that aparently has gone bad then it should go away and be normal. &nbsp;At 5 thosand rpms how much horse power do i have 110 or 120?

hey myfirst240, i ahd the same problem, and this is what i did. &nbsp;First of all, change the distributor cap and rotor, then do all the other normal tune up things, but the main problem to fix is the distributor cap. &nbsp;Mine went bad and at exactly 5k the car would make the revs go down to 3.5k, I would hate that and obviously you didnt have the full potential of ur power so get the entire tune up and beat the shit out of those cars. &nbsp;####, losing to an S-10 gotta suck.

hey, my car has the same problem . .and the place i bought it from actually has it right now (fixing it). they said it was my mass airflow sensor... so u might wanna check that out too . . . PeAcE

THat S10 had A new holly intake thing and dual Flows with no cats. &nbsp;S10 have well over 200 torque, do they get beat alot or something, the ones i have seen race have done pretty good.
IS the mass air flow sensor soppust to have something inside its tube or is it suppost to be empty, just wondering.

i seen soem real fast s10's too, a domestic civic they are.

mine dont limit anywheres until i get to 180kph, then she goes

Well, S-10's aren't all that slow. Then if you find an S-10 SS or was that SS S-10, can't remember, doesn't matter though, but they have about 200+ horse, and 200+ torque, I'm not quite sure, I am just sure that they are fast. So, if you mess with one of those I hope you have an SR20DET swap.

hey myfirst240 and natty, &nbsp;the SOHC has a rev limiter of 6500. &nbsp;but the HP starts dying off around 6 or a little higher. &nbsp;you can get ECU upgrades that will remove the rev and speed limiters, &nbsp;or you can just get a CA or SR and that will solve all your problems with the S10 or the camaro.

I used to have a '94 S10 SS. It had 190 hp, don't know about the torque. Yeah i was pretty quick. It would catch 2nd hard and it was an auto. But I think my '97 240 is a little quicker. I used to lose to my friend's maxima in my S10, but my 240 made him look bad when I beat him after he said I wouldn't.:)

Hey, I have a SOHC and its slow. I think its my cam because i have hks exhaust, headers, and intake, port and polish, bored out and a JWT computer. and I am still beat by stock integras. Im gonna swap in my stock cam and ill le ya know. 89 SE fastback

That's strange cause I have a 95 240 with a custom cat system, intake, port polish job......I can't run a #### S-10 like you wouldnt believe....Just not those #### custom V-8's in the s-10 chassis. But the majority of those ss s-10's can't hang even in second gear I start pulling........Well, I believe you said you had a sohc...

bing is right s 10's are the american version of the civic. &nbsp;I don't mean that as a bash towards s 10's or civics. &nbsp;It's just that If you get your hands on one for relatively cheap you can make em scary fast. &nbsp;My boy had a 350 small block in his s 10 the swap was easy to do according to him. &nbsp;He'd cruise around with sandbags in the bed over the rear axle and tear the #### out of camaros and mustangs all night. &nbsp;Now and again he'd suprise the #### out of a vette as well, like I said scary fast.

Still losing to stock integras?<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'> You have about the same mods I did, except I had a regrinded cam and nismo cam gear. I didnt have my intake manifold polished or anything. I was beating stock GSRs. Modded ones were a tough fight but still close.

Maybe if you bought real mods instead of squirter lights and &quot;180sx&quot; rear center panel's you could make your car alittle faster :confused: &nbsp;Just a thought I had.

Hey hey im saving up money for a SR swap i just wanted to do little things to make my car Look Purty. &nbsp;I think the power falls off on a SOHC at 5500, just from the Dyno slips i have seen on various SOHC. &nbsp;Ill race him after the 5k limiter is off and i will tell yall if it makes a big difference(i hope it does) &nbsp;

Yeah I shift at 5500-6000 always feels so good when taking it to that point. Have not raced yet but my baby does feel good and I have no mods as of yet. I do intend on the following:
Hot shot header, ApexI N1 dual exhuast, Injen Intake, JWT ecu upgrade, Cams, UR underdrive pulley, and doing the plugs and wires over

my SOHC kept up with a modded 93. &nbsp;i know he had intake and exhaust like me, but if he had anything else i couldnt tell, but it &nbsp;was head to head the whole way down the avenue. &nbsp;do pulleys make a big difference? i have a weld on and i am also considering taking the calsonic resonator off...but it might be too loud...

hello i am the guy that beat myfirst240sx. my truck has a dual flowmasters and a new K&amp;N FIPK. it has 160 hp stock. 256 TQ. &nbsp;it is horrible to race but hey i beat that camaro that beat myfirst240. &nbsp;we go crusin a gooc bit but my truck would alway get beat. this was when i had a air filter that hadnt been changed in about a year amd a 1/2. &nbsp;so myfirst240(sean)'s car did get beat. yes it was by an s-10 it was also a 92. &nbsp;his car is mad awsome at turns. &nbsp;my truck would just flip and kill me. &nbsp;u also have to remeber a truck has towing gear ratio. &nbsp;but s-10's are cool. &nbsp;cars a better by far. &nbsp;thought i would add my 2 cents sence yall are talkin about me anyway.
