Long story short my car sometimes going to die when I come to a stop. When I go to retstart the car it doesnt wanna turn back on. It cranks but wont turn over.

I did a quick check and determined im not getting adequite spark. Furthermore I feel that my ignitor chip gets too hot and is causing this problem but still need to diagnose it more.

Spark plugs are totally clean not running rich at all. Timing is dead on too. Boosting only 12 lbs but bitch drive it.

After the car stalls out and wont turn back on the only way to get it running again is by push starting with a few friends/strangers.

Anyone else experience this or have any input on the stalling and the no restart.

Its a red top sr in an s13

I had my boss check it out for me said its fine. After the car shuts off (stalls out) and i try to restart again the coil packs arent putting out spark. I have to wait an hour or so to restart it again and it runs fine.

Its like something is getting hot or something loose? It def gets enough voltage output from the battery. Something is stopping the flow when I go to restart it. I have to push start it to get it going again.

add a couple grounds and make sure the ignitor has a good ground. your ignitor has 4 wires on one side and 5 on the other. the 4 are ground signals from your ecu ignition drivers to trigger each corresponding cylinder, and that 5th is a black ground wire.

if you don't have good grounds or enough grounds these ground wires get hot etc.

you can never have enough grounds.

another thing that fouls out spark plugs quickly is no, or a stuck open thermostat. but that is usually more so in the winter so i don't know how applicable this is to where you live but first thing i'd do is add another ground from the head to the chassis and negative terminal on the battery to the chassis, especially if you have your battery relocated...

best of luck,

Dave

awesome thank you for your response. on that note my spark plugs arent fouled at all which is very wierd. i did acquire a multi meter and i will take some readings before and after the problem occurs which is very easy to replicate.

again thanks for your help

OK so dumbest fix of my lifetime.

are you ready?

I have solid engine and tranny mounts and everything else around.

Due to the vibration the connection to the coolant temp sensor would jiggle and wasnt on very well after being driven. Once the car is off it sat in fine and firm. WTF!

Anyway its fixed.
