1990 s13 with z 32 trans and a Sr. The transmissions whining very loud only when you press the petal, only in 3,4,5th gears. Sounds like my old dog box. No loss of power and drives fine. Just started out of nowhere. Only 1000 miles since its rebuild. Any ideas to why its happening

so you push the clutch pedal in and it whines? if yes, then it sounds like a throwout bearing.

or it whines when the clutch pedal is out? if yes, then it may be a bad bearing inside the transmission

my ka trans does the same thing.
When the pedal is out sometimes I hear a faint whine, but when the pedal goes in I no longer hear it.
But then at the same time when the pedal is out and say for example I am in any gear and accelerating once I let off the gas and the car is slowing down I hear an even louder whining, but as long as I am on the throttle I do not hear it. Do you have this problem also?

Mine only whines when I am on the gas in 3rd-5th. No sound at idle or low gears. Sound like a dog box.

that has got to be the dumbest damn thing I have heard in a long time. That is about as smart as a bag of dicks.

Why does driving a nissan 240sx mean you should not give a damn about the performance and ride quality of your car? so dumb.

I am thinking it is my throw out bearing, and possibly another bearing in my tranny.

Fine then, you drive a modified 13+ year old car, deal with it. I didn't say I didn't give a shit how it performed or about the ride quality. If I didn't give a shit, I wouldn't have spent $1.6k on KW's, bought an aftermarket EMS to run my car, or put a Z32 trans behind my engine to prevent me from breaking another SR trans. But you can keep your bag of dicks, because it's going to have squeaks, rattles and such. It's the nature of the beast dude, so wash the sand out of your vagina and drive.

And, I'd put money it was your input shaft bearing...

Yep, you should just park it, that way you can't get any more rattles, whines, or squeaks of any sort... Hell maybe it'll fix itself while you give her a break.

the issue here is, the trans never made that sound until i had gone to the track. I made some other noises but never did it make the dog box sound. So im trying to get feedback from other people that have a z32 in there 240 and see if the sound is common. I want to make sure that the trans is not about to go up.

Here is a quick one for ya... start by checking the trans fluid. Have you looked inside just to double check yet?
