Hi,
The nut holding my coilover in on the bottom in the rear suspension is super messed up/rounded out past the point of vice grips etc.. (pic for reference of which one im talking about)

If i grind this off, can i just pound out the bolt and replace it?

Thanks in advance.

looks like you can still take that off no problem...man up with the vise grips

Thats not the actual bolt, im just showing which bolt it is

Started off as a 17, rounded out

Vice grips kept stripping it more

Pounded a 16 on there, it just rounded out again.

Used a dremel to try and flatten two sides of the bolt, stuck a vice grip on there, but the vice grip just stripped the metal.

Spray some PB on there and jack up the car a little to even the pressure out. Then man up and caveman it off. lol

Pretty much soaked it in PB, i can pull the vice grip, but no matter how tight i get it, it just makes grooves in the metal..
Ill probably just end up grinding it off and replacing the knuckle

Here's how you use vice grips...its a mental game.
The first time you lock on a bolt has to be the last time! lock them on SOOO FUCKING tight!!! that god himself can't remove them. get another person to help you close them if u hafta.

then loosen, "mini sledge" assist if needed, that sucker will pop right off.

Final resort.. weld on 1/2 socket then breaker bar.

just get a nut splitter (yes that is an actual tool). or learn how to use vise-grips correctly.

spiral fluted extractors. they cut into the bolt as you turn it out.
