Hello,
When I drive faster then ~20km/h I can't shift back to 1st gear. Didn't try to put my back into it but even if that would work it would be like driving a truck and likewise not how it should. The other gears work perfect. The car is practically stock s14 zenki '96.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Kind'a hard to learn drifting when I'm stuck in gears like this..

Bump. I have same problem.

Can't shift from 2nd to first unless going very slow and double clutching. Anyone have insight into this? Preventative measures by Nissan?

It's a lock so u can't go back into first after certain speed, same with reverse

Think about it...you don't want to go into first that fast.

Your just merrily giving her the corn like you usually do through town...1st...2nd...mishift-1ST....shift lock...wipe out some pedestrians...buy an automatic.

If you really want to you can blip downshift and it might go in but you shouldn't be going back to first in the first place. Your not going to initiate a drift at 20 km/h...I wouldn't call that a drift, I'd call it a burnout.

Yup that's the reason, 2nd gear is fine for learning drifting just speed up in first drop to second u should be fine, but anywho, dont get an auto lol

Definitely no automatic. An automatic silvia must be the pointless thing ever.
Had a slight thought that it may be designed that, but I saw Japanese guys shifting to 1st around 50km/h.
Yeah a 20km/h drift is really closer to a burnout then a drift :D
Thank You all :) Now finally I have no worries with my transmission =]
