before you all flame me, i DID do my research on zilvia. couldnt find much worth looking at and nothing steered me in the right direction.
my question is: What should i buy for a full suspension upgrade?
I plan on DD the car, with spirited driving in mind, autocross, and some track sessions (drift included)
Now i know that drift suspension differs from road race suspension, but for a general set up - What should i buy?
Coilovers, lower control arms, bracing, blah blah. I have a good budget but i dont want to spend money on 2000$ coilovers, i want it to be a good setup for a decent price.
What i want taken into consideration is the performance and importance of each upgrade - i.e.: if a lower control arm upgrade doesnt do me shit then tell me so i dont think it wasnt covered because you all forgot!
Thanks guys, i will continue research, this will be a "help" thread for myself and other noobs

I'm being nice today. Read this:

Every suspension component does something.
Have fun searching. There are lots of threads on this, and all over Google. Including one about 10 threads down.

dude you dont even know! i read that one, yours, twice - first time fully and second time recap. what i dont understand is, if im just upgrading and not going all out D1 style on my car, then what would i need? you covered knuckles and shit, where does the line form?

Essentially all of the arms and the tie rods.
Lower control arms last.
Coilovers
Done.

to start off i would say look at the condition of your car as it stands now. blown shocks? worn out bushings? do you want to slam your car, or do you want it to handle better than it is? the koni yellow and gc set up is a good alternative to 2k coilovers but you have to do some work to get them in *did i mention those shocks have lifetime warranties?* sway bars arent a big deal to get, even more so if you get coilovers. but i have to say from experience coilovers are a must get for getting more response from the car to you, *and an lsd*. also the adjustments in ride height, dampening, and front camber is nice. this is kind of the list you would get if you were to lower your car more than 2.4 inches and want a more agressive ride: coilovers, RUCA's, rear toe rods. that should be fine for spirited driving.

Its all preference...whats your budget and how low do you want the car to be would be what I would ask for. Anything you do should be better than 15 yr old stock suspension.
If youre on a budget and isnt looking to lower the car much, then spring and aftermarket shock combo would be your best bet. Then you got coilovers. If you decide to go that route, biggest thing you'd have to figure out is spring rate. Do you want a softer ride or a stiffer ride.

Don't forget about wheels and tires in the mix of things. Going from stock 5 spokes to some 17x9s with grippy tires was one of the best upgrades I've done in terms of handling.

things i'd do if i were you; subframe collars if your still dd, s14 outer tierods, ikeya formula inners, steering rack bushings, nismo power brace and you will have well set car for double duty purposes.
