i have this acceleration problem.

when i advance the timing on the dist. is sputters and hesitates at slow throttle but its fine when i full throttle.
when i retard the timing its ok at slow throttle but sputters and hesitates on full throttle.
theres no certain RPM when it happens.

ive played with it MULTIPLE times and cant seem to get it right.

could it be another component? i know my fuel pump is cherry and already replaced the fuel filter.

cuz it seems to me that im only adjusting the time of the sputter and not being able to eliminate it..
and i dont want that sputter.

also it is a KA24DE-T

any help will be gratefully appreciated.
thanks in advance.

set your timing using a time gun, that way you eliminate that prob for sure.

next, is your pump stock? fuel pressure regulator stock? sounds like you might not be getting enough gas.

thanks.

Damn I just started having sputter on my ka-t as well and cant figure out why. All was good for like four test run's up to 7 psi, it sounded and felt great. But the next day I took my friend for a ride and between 3-5k my car starts to buck and hesitate but once its past 5k its fine. Still trying to find a solution.

What are you tuning your car with?? Assuming tuned ECU or better then below is what I would check.

- Timing ~ Set to Base 20*
- Plug Gap. ~ .32 to .28
- Boost Leak. ~ Leak tester
- Bad Injector O-ring. ~ Replace
- Faulty Maf ~ Clean or Replace
- Weak Ground. ~ Add ground wire or cleanup contact surface
- Harness connection to the ECU. ~ Make sure connection is flush and even. I hade this shit happen to me.

compression can have something to do with it. other than that maybe your air/fuel, whats the air/fuel ratio? and compression?

my guess would be MAFS
mine did the same thing before it went bad

need a msd box to help retard the timing for you, because your ecu and dizzy can only do it so much on there own.

i dont have a a/f gauge yet and im gonna compression test soon.

heres another problem,
when my rpm reaches 4,500, my car feels like it stops pulling but the rev gets higher. im boosting stock 7 psi and i know im not wiping out spark cause i got new cold plugs.

HELP!:-/
