So my friend owns Best Tint in Stanton California and has a Nissan 240sx that he takes to shows. This car had major swirls and I always told him that I couldn't believe he would take his car to shows in that condition and I could make it so much better. He had always though his paint was fine. Even won 1st place trophies at numorous shows like Hot Import Nights ect... I guess the judges don't even know what to look for. After bugging him forever, he finally wanted me to detail it before the Remix show @ Irwindale Speedway. I gave him a quote and told him if he didn't like it, he didn't have to pay me. After it was done, he totally loved it and now is bugging me to get him the right stuff to maintain the finish. Now that all the swirls are out, his car is better than he thought.

Sorry, no before pictures because my camera battery died.

Only Meguiars products were used on this detail.
I am a firm believer of Meguiars products.

Interior Process:
The car just needed a vacum, good wipe down w/ Meguiar's Vinyl and Rubber Cleaner #40 thoughout, and a little Meguiar's PlastX Clear Plastic Cleaner and Polish on the guage cluster.

Exterior Process:
1) Meguiar's Gold Class Car Wash Shampoo and Conditioner
2 bucket method w/ grit guards
Meguiar's Microfiber Wash Mitt
Dried car w/ Meguiar's Water Magnet Microfiber Drying Towels

2) Meguiar's Smooth Surface Clay
Then busted out the Meguiar's Dual Action Polisher, G110V2

3) 2 passes w/ (burgandy) Meguiar's Soft Buff 2.0 Cutting Pad
and Meguiar's Ultra Cut Compound #105

4) 1 pass w/ (yellow) Meguiar's Soft Buff 2.0 Polishing Pad
and Meguiar's Ultra Finishing Polish #205

5) complete alcohol wipe down

6) 1 pass w/ (black) Meguiar's Soft Buff 2.0 Finishing Pad
and Meguiar's NXT Generation Tech Wax 2.0
Waited overnight for Meguiar's NXT Generation Tech Wax 2.0 to cure.

7) Meguiar's Gold Class Car Wash Shampoo and Conditioner
2 bucket method w/ grit guards
Meguiar's Microfiber Wash Mitt
Dried car w/ Meguiar's Water Magnet Microfiber Drying Towels

8) 1 more pass w/ (black) Meguiar's Soft Buff 2.0 Finishing Pad
and Meguiar's NXT Generation Tech Wax 2.0

FINISHED 1 1/2 Days.

Here's the car right after it was finished! New deep black and baby butt smooth finish!
The car looked a little on the grey side.

I would bother detailing my car if it didn't need a repaint up front.

Intresting, swirls are the worst. Meguiar's NXT Generation Tech Wax 2.0 is one of the best OTC waxes out there but I expected a car like this would use something a little more "baller" lol.

I've taken the Meguiars detailing class and trust me, Meguiar's NXT Generation Tech Wax 2.0 is bad ass.

Being a detailing buff myself, im curious why he didnt take any CLOSE UP pictures when it was sunny out at the show. That will show if his efforts were worth it or not. As you can tell in his first photos the sun was going down... Naturally any car looks good at that time. Anyone else get a salesman feeling from that post?

:)

System One does not compare to Meguiars or 3M.

We tried all sorts of stuff out at the shop.

System One is fairly decent, but doesn't remove the finest of scratches.

Meguiars removed everything with less work, but was more expensive.

anyone have any opinions on race glaze? that was all the rage a few years ago. I am forgetting what I used to buff my car out but it was not 3M. It started with a P.

Looks great. Just one question, why wax before washing? Just curious.

The first photo was from early in the morning around 6am. I started putting on the last coat of wax at 5am and then he put the decals on.
The tenth picture IS a close up of the car in the direct sun. Sorry a point and shoot was used. Trust me, this car was lookin bad ass with not even one scratch/swirl on it.

When you're cutting with compound, it creates dust everywhere also in the door jams ect.. So I give the cars a wash and spray water into all the crevices to clean them out. Because if you wash after compound w/ out wax on it, it'll water spot like crazy.
Then a last coat of wax because you're suppose to have two coats.
Everyone has thier own way of detailing and I found that this works best for me.

Thanks for all the positive feedback.

And for all the haters, keep hating. It wouldn't be the same w/out you.

I understand, I own a detailing company as well. Just curious, but if thats what works for you best then go with it. I'm just cautious of doing any waxing/sealing before making sure all the polishing oils are gassed out/washed off. Looks great though, black paint sucks.
